I hope you guys enjoyed the cake! Thanks for all your support and feedback. Really appreciate it! Before I placed my first order for the parts, I knew I could get the chamber to work but my biggest concern was that I would run out of ideas for episodes. You guys have stepped up and alleviated that by coming up with more and better ideas I would've never thought of. So, thank you for that. I jotted everything down and you guys will get your answers. Cheers!

Another idea would be a high pressure sodium lamp. I think they contain elemental (or amalgamated) sodium so that might make for an interesting light show. Pure alkali metals inside a glass envelope might be interesting too as I'd like to see what effect pressure has on the reaction with water. Sealed Swiss cheese could be interesting too. Or any other cheese that contains gas bubbles. See if compressing and rapidly decompressing changes how the bubbles are arranged in the cheese.

With CFL’s, nowadays there’s not usually liquid mercury inside the bulbs, but an amalgam of mercury to help control the vapour pressure better. Typically it’s in the form of a little pellet, which you may hear rattling around in some lamps, though typically they’re held in a special pocket or near the electrodes to avoid damaging the phosphor coating.

As you cannot compress water how do you get the water pressure so high? I thought it was the weight of water above.
@tasa4904Ай бұрын
Water is said to be incompressible, that's to make understanding simpler for certain physics concepts. Drill down to the atomic level and you find an oxygen atom, 2 hydrogen atoms, and a LOT of space around them. So there's plenty of room to jam more water molecules in. So add more water to fill in the gaps. And because the water molecules are now hitting the walls more often with the reduced size of their living space, that increases the pressure. Quite frankly, until you squeeze it to the point where all space is occupied and the water molecules absolutely can't move, you have a liquid. Otherwise you've turned it into a solid. According to Google, you apparently need 6 times the pressure at the deepest part of the ocean to make this happen.

Hank Johnson, the senator from Georgia, was worried about that. 2010, and his stupidity still follows him. The general who was talking to him calmly said, "We do not anticipate that, sir." That's how you talk to idiot bosses. After the congressional hearing, it is rumored that he got two drinks.

Congratulation:-) I know it's impossible, but it would be amazing to see the reverse. What would happen if you had an open bottle that got closed under pressure and then fast got under normal pressure? How does a "blobfish" really look like in the deep?

@SonnellАй бұрын
That sound is not the true sound of the implosions. They do not represent how it truly sounds, but the result of a different method, probably some pitch corrected one. Use a proper audio editing software, perhaps record the sound separately directly to a raw wav format at high sampling rate, and do not use any fft based speed changing method. This is just terrible currently.
