Without any experience with Mario hacks myself, I can only guess from context, so my guess to what makes a level give off distinct Morsel vibes is: obscure, jank and/or confusing tech mixed with kaizo platforming, likely has one or more seriously messed up jumps, would probably drive most mortals insane with eldritch insight to fully grasp the inner workings of the level designer's thought process.

I loved the Fosters bit, considering it hasn't been seen promoted over other shelf stock and I haven't seen an ad for decades, It became pretty much export product in the 90s or so, I indeed chuckled a bit.

For the glitches in the first level, it happens while using a block that you find in bonus level (the one when there's 3 blocks per row and if you get all the coins you get a 1up) if you mess up with that block some effects can triggers such as infinite p balloon, gfx glitches and the one showcased in the level (there can be even more glitches with this but i'm not informed enough)

if it's a full price game, do not put in non-cosmetic mtx's, do not put in battle passes. the only exception are mmorpgs with a subscription. otherwise, you pay for game, you get game.

Not by a long shot, hoss. They left quite a few alone. Some levels were "impossible" until cheese or skill prevailed. Others were just straight impossible.
