The only mini pedal I own is a EP Booster. If they had sold it in a larger size, I'd have picked that instead. If they sold it the size of a Volante, I'd own that.

I actually had an acoustic gig persona, Acoustic Jake, the Pirate. I cracked the screen on my old Peterson Strobo-Stomp, 2 TU-2’s, & I blacked out a Korg pitch-Black. The peg leg wasn’t the problem; the eyepatch was the real challenge. In the end, the depth perception really did me in. Finally, one night I just stepped off the edge of the stage, & that was the straw that broke the pirate’s leg.

One thing mini pedals do save on. Overall is weight. If you replace say 5 pedals on a 10 pedal board with minis. You reduced maybe 4 pounds. Which isn’t a huge reduction. But for traveling some folks may see that as a plus. Only mini pedals I own is the Wampler Plexi, Squeegee Comp and a mini Steampunk boost. All three were on 50% off sale.

Smaller enclosures with top jacks are definitely preferable, but I have a couple of spots on my board that I place a mini pedal sideways and I don't think anything else would work there. If I wasn't using a switcher it'd be a right pain to use it though.

A couple of interesting mini pedals - EHX now have the Pico POD, even smaller than the Nano. I've not played one but reports are it is superior to the Nano. Also the EHX QTron Nano, while not necessarily sounding better than the Micro, has a volume control which the Micro doesn't. I find it much more usable.

Most people seem to prefer the mini Tumnus to the Tumnus Deluxe.

I made a little pedal board with all four of the TC pedals that use the Zeus enclosure, and it’s great. They never tip when you stomp on them like the conventional minipedals. The controls are easier to use. The cable routing is easier and more out of the way. I wish the conventional minipedal enclosure would go away and everyone switch to something like this.

I count the knobs & switches. Boxes with FETs and tubes get more points too. Ability to use 18VDC with a draw of less than 100ma. I like the most per dollar! Save space on pedalboards, don't use plywood, pedalboards need a space underneath to hide cables.

I own many mini pedals, they’re all off the board, but I own them. Wampler’s mini pedals are pretty strong.

Not a Fan of Mini Pedals or cramped pedalboards = increases the odds of Activating or Turning-off a pedal "By Mistake" in a Live-performance. I like em at least as wide as a standard MXR enclosure.

Sorry, I didn’t have time to watch an hour of content but the thing that struck me straight off was that most, or at least my mini pedals are all offset, either back to front or top to bottom so that it’s really just one jack width if that makes sense.

How do you redesign the foot to get access to them? You can only get footswitches so close.
@VIDS20138 ай бұрын
@@VertexEffectsInc You use a loop switcher, and never touch the mini pedals with your foot.
