I have personally seen over 2,000 physical healings from headaches to deaf ears from birth opening to blind eyes opening... through my contact with regular people in normal places, and in church and travelling abroad preaching. 2000 would be a conservative number. "These signs shall follow those who believe..."... he wasn't joking around. Active believers pressing into the things of God will regularly see signs and wonders through their normal contact with others.

Many people today believe that God is still working miracles like He did in the first century. Many people say that they can speak in tongues or heal the sick, or that they know people who can. But the Bible does not teach this idea. A miracle in the Bible was a supernatural act. It was an event that was beyond the usual course of nature-like restoring sight to a man blind from birth, or raising a dead person (like Lazarus) from the grave. The Bible teaches that miracles happened in Bible times for a very specific purpose: to confirm the Word (Mark 16:20; Acts 8:6; Hebrews 2:3-4). How did miracles “confirm the Word”? When an inspired speaker stepped forward to declare God’s Word, God confirmed His Word by having the speaker perform a miracle to show that he was from God. The miracle showed the hearers that God was behind the speaker’s remarks. Miracles authenticated the spoken word as God’s Word. Once God revealed all of the information that He wished to make available to people, the need for miracles to confirm the oral Word came to an end. Since there are no apostles living today, and since Holy Spirit baptism was unique to the apostles (Acts 2) and the first Gentile converts (Acts 10), there is no Holy Spirit baptism today. Once the last apostle died, the ability to perform miracles could not be passed on to others. The Bible teaches that miracles are no longer necessary since we have everything we need to function in this life, to be pleasing to God, and to survive spiritually (Read 2 Peter 1:3). Gentlemen, You are on the right topic. I am a believer that we cannot take way miracles from the Bible. The in itself is a miracle book. God said to Moses, 'thou shalt take this rod in thy hand where with thou shall do signs." The rod is the Word of God -the manual for performing signs and wonders. in over two decades as a prophetic minister, I have watch thousands miracles happen before my eyes in crusades and church services. Strokes healed, Tumors disappear, HIV/AIDS healed, run away husbands and children miraculously return home. Debts cancelled, Cancer healed, dead people come back to life etc. The answer is yes do happen today. Whether you believe it or not, the Bible is as relevant today as it was in the days of Jesus and the apostles.

While love may be the greatest virtue, God can and does use miracles to reach people today. Almost 90% of the Chinese underground church's conversions has been attributed to miracles. Indonesia, the Koreas and Africa has seen similar results. Aprons and handkerchiefs that had touched Paul's body healed people. The sick were brought to Peter's shadow to be healed. Jesus said, I go to my Father. If there were no advantage, then Jesus would not have gone to His Father. This is NOT about people outdoing Jesus. This is about Jesus living His life out in His Body by His Spirit. We are His hands. We are His mouth. We are His feet.

If I could propose my humble thoughts; the statement that “signs” are the first reason for the miraculous is actually secondary. The first reason is because God is love. That is why miracles happen. Signs are peripheral to the central will of God which is to save, heal, deliver, set free and make whole. However just as Jesus was accredited by God with miracles, signs and wonders (Acts 2:22), we ought to be as well. The gospel still needs to be confirmed and preached fully with miracles, signs and wonders (Romans 15:19). If it were exclusive to Apostles then why did Philip and Stephen work miracles? Why did Jesus send out 70 who weren’t Apostles to go house to house, healing those who are sick and proclaiming the Kingdom of God has come upon you? (Luke 10:9). You see signs and wonders are meant to be a package deal with the gospel. Is it only our soul that needs to be saved? Or does our spirit and body receive salvation as well? God bless you all!

This is not only scary but sad. The gifts of the Holy Spirit just spat on. Miracles don’t happen because people lack in faith. Notice many miracles did not happen from where Jesus came from. Why is that so? Because they saw him as just the son of a carpenter. A regular man. Well of course that’s why that place lacked miracles. Also Gods redemptive plan was finished on the cross. As Jesus said, “it is finished.” That does not mean God will not finish the work he started in each and every one of us. It is impossible to say that the lord has not healed many since the death and resurrection of Christ. They twist scripture in order to give the people an excuse of why miracles don’t happen anymore. Insane. Whatever happened to the elders of the church. Shall I go to one and be healed in Jesus name as the scriptures command. Oh yeah, you have to be a BELIEVER to walk in them and experience them because you have the love and compassion for those being oppressed by the devil. Yes. Three year old girl was shot in the face by accident. By a suspect during a police raid... Days later the girl is on the mend and getting stronger every day. I believe this miracle happened regardless of the prayer I prayed for her.

You didn't say she recovered, just that she was "on the mend." So what do you mean by "quick recovery?" It sounds to me that she was lucky to have survived but it was because the wound was not fatal and the "quick recovery" was due to no vital parts being damaged and the natural healing process took place and had nothing to do with God. Did you thank the doctors and nurses at all or did you simply walk out of the hospital with raised hands shouting praises to the Lord?

1 Corinthians 12 tells of the spiritual gifts, inclusive of healing, prophecy, tongues, interpretation and so on. Many then try to say that because chapter 13 says that love never ends while these gifts can be taken away, that therefore they will stop for us. Scripture does not say that they will stop however. But, everything is done by God, not us, for the edifying of the church. Anyone who shows off and says they are performing miracles, they are not from God. It is for God's glory alone that any of the true prophets and disciples worked. John the Baptist, perhaps did not have the gift of healing. Yet a miracle was performed in him in his mother's womb, as he leapt for joy when Mary visited Elizabeth. Was that a miracle performed by God or not?

@@WJH777 when that that is perfect has arrived. People falsely assume that it's scripture when in fact it's the perfect age when Christ returns. Yes, I know that the Greek words to telion, translated "the perfect," are in the neuter gender. Do you really hold the Bible as more perfect than the time Christ returns and God brings in the kingdom? The gifts are needed now just like they were then. Only when Christ returns and every knee bows is when they won't be needed. That's just common sense and what I have found in scripture. Saddens me to see how lukewarm the church has become with the doctrines of men which are being used as an excuse to not exercise our faith in ways that truly test it. It's much easier to believe that the gifts have ceased and allow ourselves to become couch Christians than to walk in this fallen world and believe that God can do excessively and beyond all that we can ask.
