MY STORY
After enlisting in the Unite States Marine Corps, I experienced excruciating foot pain for 9 months before finally being diagnosed with an Intramuscular Arteriovenous Malformation in my foot. 14 months of limb salvage and I begged my doctors to amputate. I have my right leg amputated below the knee in 2019 and now I am living my best life and showing it here for the world to see that despite trauma and distress, you can live great lives.

Loved Bridget's comment about your freckles. I don't know how well known Pippi Longstocking (written by Astrid Lindgren from Sweden) is in USA, but you have a lot in common. (And that is a complement, she is a very beloved fictional character in Scandinavia! She is kind, fair, strong, active and spunky.) In one book a pharmacy had a sign in the window saying "Do you have trouble with freckles?". Pippi went inside and said "No, I don't". "You don't what?" "I don't have trouble with freckles." "But your entire face is covered in freckles!" "Yes, but I don't have any trouble with them. I love them!". Lots of love from Norway!

18:00 I am currently trying to get a wheelchair so I can get around without my leg on. The person who I was talking to asked my how I have done it all these years and I said "I hop" She asked why I can't do that any more and I said, "Because The International House of Pancakes has gone out of business." She asked, "What does that- Oh" then she laughed.

17:00 Oh yea, that reminds me: To greatly reduce that pain from your leg being pulled on the pin-lock, try castration bands. They are little, thick rubber bands you put over the pin. Not sure how they work, but they do. You can get them anywhere they sell livestock equipment. They seem grossly inhumane to me used for what they are meant to be used for, but they work great for making your pin-lock more comfortable. Would you like to talk to me about some of my adventures as an amputee, like the time when I was a kid and ran away from the police for no reason and got away by letting the cop pull my fake leg off and hopping away before the cop recovered from his shock? I have *SO* many stories.

20:00 They do not keep you in the hospital long any more. When my Grandmother had a heart attack in 1978 she was in the hospital for 2 weeks. When I had a heart attack in 2020 (the worst kind) I was in the hospital for 2 days.

16:00 I can wear my current leg indefinitely (well I can wear it longer than I can stay awake) but then I have the best prosthetist in the world. Well, at least the best I've ever had, and I have had *A LOT* You and your BF have a floor to crash on near by (Portland-ish) if you ever want to try her out, Annika. I also know an easy way you can fly out here.

I saw a comment on one of Jo's videos, "I am asking maybe a dumb question, but I am just learning English, but can someone explain, what is a bologna amputee?" I was first to answer that it is "Below knee" but ever since I am thinking "My bellow knee has a first name...."
