Day 2 & 3 Saga of Making a Prosthetic

Hi Friends!
Look at me uploading videos two weeks in a row. This is unheard of for me.
But here is the long awaited (if you think a week is long) video of the next steps of making a prosthetic leg. I had my leg casted last week and they made me a check socket. Check sockets are a great way to find out what fits and what doesn't and make appropriate adjustments. The cost of making a check socket is very low, so we can make multiple without issue. Once we fabricate into carbon fiber is when it starts to get a little costly.
Anyways, there was a slight...hiccup in this first check socket. So that's why this is a two day video.
Thankful for all of you for the support and encouragement. I will continue to make videos. Sometimes I get in a mood and don't feel like making a video, but I really am trying my hardest.

I **love** seeing you in your AllPro. So many YTers recommended it, including you, that I got one of my own a few weeks ago when upgrading from a K2 hydraulic to the K3 AllPro. This foot is remarkable! So much energy return! I love the dorsiflexion when I'm walking uphill and climbing stairs. I can see why you like it so much. I sure do.

Thanks for bringing us along for the ride, as your go through this process. I knew there was a lot to getting a good fit, but nice to see you and your Prost having a good relationship and communication. As I 'm watching, I thought that the closest experience, that we with above average limbs, could get to this, is when getting a large filling, and the slow grinding down, then bite paper, and the Dentist, asking "how's that feel?" I usually have to go back to adjust a high spot, as I'm bad at describing what's going on in my mouth...especially when it's all frozen up. More grinding! (I think my record is 3 return visits for one filling.) Love your channel Annika and your energy. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with us.

Thank you for sharing. This has shown me so many things about what I need to ask at my prosthesis appointments. Best of luck with your new leg. I am also working through my test socket.

Had casting done this past week getting ready for my first ever test fitting this week excited and nervous. Mine is the suction not the lockin and pin system

So... the "Broke a leg" happend in this stage... HEHEHEHE Once happend to me in school (30 years ago... also being teenager was not helping HAHAHAHA). It actually break in half... Not funny, but very educational for me and my technician. Awesome videos! Happy Holidays!!!!

As always, thank you for sharing; it's cool seeing this whole process. If I could go back 35 years in time and consider a different career path, and knowing what I know now, I would seriously consider becoming orthotists or prosthetist. Or both if that was a thing.

"I thought it was funny, the medical professional didn't" 😂 Mood, that's my view on IVs. I've had some weird failures and as long as it's not incompetence I don't care. You just infiltrated my vein? Cool, enjoy getting to actually see the blood scatter because I'm really pale (not as in "I'm about to pass out" pale, that's just my normal complexion) and then go get a new set.
