these are all easily accessible things in-game, you don’t have to pay for them at all. capcom did the exact same thing with other games like dmc5, it’s shitty but it’s obviously just the way the devs get around execs calling for mandatory dlc. by giving the option to spend money to get stuff you’d already earn easily just by playing the game. the real problem is the performance, it’s awful.

Are people really complaining about pay-for-convenience items? You don’t have to buy them, the game is single player you’re not competing with anyone. Most of if not all items in this game are available in game. Gaming has a huge issue but other than performance issues it has nothing to do with dragons dogma.

I never understand the people who defend the micrtransactions part. If it's part of a game, especially a single player, it shouldn't have in-game micrtransactions period. capcom does, this a lot, though i am still going to play it and enjoy it. I understand the save slot issue. One also had this. So it's a design choice. i don't agree with it, but it is what it is. What i don't understand is that on pc, for most, it's unplayable. On console, it has some serious performance issues. Also, the new being able to start a new character and new game. Yes, it deletes your first character, but that on pc. It's not an option, and on console, you have to use a work around why. But kinda fumny how you say Don't play it don't buy it then your like im going to play it anyways. Im not saying don't rage about the issues they are legitimate issues but if whales keep buying them there not going to go away and that seems to be in all games right now sadly.

You can get most items sold in game. They should had save slots tho, they can add them before you finish a run. Here's my take on this whole drama with this sequal... to some degree some of the criticism are honestly valid, but at the same time this wasn't on the devs but on Capcom themselves, they've always done this, they have a bunch of nonesenseical mtx on almost all their games.. just look at monster hunter for example/dmc5... Also you can GET EVERYTHING in the game(aside preorder weapons) which is why the mtx they've provided is NONESENSE!!, There's also an npc that sells the book if you wanna Re-eddit your entire character and pawn!! there's also a barbershop if you just want to change minor things hair/makeup/tattoos etc. However if you're on pc you can also just MOD THE GAME, there's already a mod that adds the the Art of metamorphesis Book to the first Vendor you encounter in the game for 1GOLD lol... There's also multiple save file mods.. (MODDING DOES NOT TURN OFF ACHIEVEMENTS FYI😉) But honestly this game wouldn't be getting the review bombs its getting if the optimization on PC wasn't so horrible, for whatever reason the devs decided to Optimize THIS GAME MORE USING YOUR CPU so if your cpu is outdated then GG upgrade that shit!.. but I'm fortunate to able to run this on my 3060 i7. getting about 50-70fps on 1980x1200(borderless window for some reason you can get more fps that way..) which is pretty good imo. Unless I'm in the city then fps drops to about 30-40fps which I honestly don't mind but if I use this steam program that you can buy for literally 9dollars CAD for me called loss less scaling( I use this too on a lot of heavy taxing games) I can set the game on windows mode on 720 resolution and upscale it on fullscreen on 2k quality and get 70-90fps, which is great :D but what we need right now is an OPTIMIZATION PATCH ASAP!!! and hopefully we get one soon!!! On a serious note, I have waited 12 years for this damn sequal I still remember the first day I bought Dragons dogma 1 on release, one of the best rpg I have ever played!! this sequal was a no brainer for me and despite the hate/criticism its getting. Almost 20hrs in.. Dragons Dogma 2 does not disappoint!! it is truly a sequal and a love letter to the fans, truly an amazing rpg, i've never felt this lost since skyrim days, dragons dogma 2 really makes you feel like your in an adventure the game has almost to 0 loading screens!! dungeons/building are just out in the open go in and explore and leave everything just feels seemless.. , the game also make you think for yourself and you get rewarded for it, combat is the same but improved, Pawns are better but can still be retarded sometimes tbh lol... and regarding the one save file, this was already confirmed way back before this sequal was even released, its sucks but it probably has to do with the pawn system.. It is what it is. ANYWAYS Don't let the negative nancy hold you back from an amazing experience and I get it we all hate mtx but its not a deal breaker for this game cause like I said you can get everything in the game!!!, but if you cant run this at all and your pc is just outdated potato then I'm sorry to hear that..if you have a PS5 or XBOX get it there it's literally plug and play, just as long as your ok with 30+fps that's already graphicly optimize.

Tbh I respect how deliberate they are. I will treat the game as a “roguelike” experience. It’s really scum that I can’t have multiple saves, but at the same time, I’m that nigguh that would save outside of every door a new save slot, so their methodology brings challenge back to the game. Now I’m definitely gonna try it out because DD1 was dope. If the “F2P” model of it is trash, then I will absolutely will review bomb them to obscurity. Ima give them the benefit of the doubt to try it though, because the first one was so good. Hopefully it’s not them being parasites in this game. Tales games a long time ago been selling “cheat codes” and FFXV had something as well that made the game ez mode vs hard mode. If they make the game “hard mode” by default and allow casuals to pay to make it ez, then idc. But if they water down the game making it prohibitive, then we got another issue. Worst case, I’ll just watch a full playthrough on YT, 🤭🤫😉

Don't want to defend microtransactions but if you buy the stuff from the store you are just stupid AF. You CAN change your character (barber in town). You can play every class on 1 char. , so why do you need 2 if you can change how it looks in game? If you for some reason want to start over, it's possible but it takes 20 seconds. (still don't see the reason why do)

You can also play every class in Bg3, but you can still create multiple characters and progress anu of them at your own discretion. Maybe don't try to defend missing a basic rpg feature that's been present since early rpgs?

It takes less than 30 minutes for those things you CAN and Emphasis on CAN farm out and are not required to buy. If people just don't look at the store they wouldn't notice anything missing from the game. 1 Save slot is also just normal Dragons Dogma (lack of new game button is dumb though but at least you can delete the save).

It hasn't affected the game at all beyond giving items you can find in game (made easier the longer its out because of walkthroughs) The only reason I'm not buying it is because the game is like most company made games in that it's buggy and easily crashes till the first batch of patches and the price of anything above 50 dollars is never worth it.

You can buy everything sold via in-game, but they intentionally inconvenience their player to sell conveniences. You get a permanent gaol key in-game and the one you can buy is a 1 time use. The gameplay and performance issues are the bigger issues. The amount of fps drops is a pain and some of the gameplay choices they made are worse than the original IMO. The one save slot comes from their new level system where your vocation and build doesn't matter at all because stats are tied to whatever level you are rather than what you leveled as. You could be like Sega who charged for New Game+ mode.

From what I hear, you CAN change your character in game without paying. The issue is moreso that the game is 50$+ but has mtx. Noone cares if it's possible to do in the game or it's not impactful, why does it once again exist. Capcom keeps doing this crap just because their gameplay is good. 370 hrs in Dragon's Dogma 2. I never once had the need to buy any of the items in psn store. There is nothing in the psn store that you could want that you can't get in bulk in game. Microtransactions are a terrible thing you should never buy, But the game is fun. If you don't want the bugginess of 1.0 then wait for the discount to arrive to buy it. The reason for there being only one save slot it the same as for DD1. Your pawn is part of the online function, and your pawn is bound to your Account/ID. They can only bind 1 pawn to an Account. And multiple save slots would cause a lot of dead Pawns while online playing. 2. Did you guys wake up just now? You are acting like it is a new thing for capcom. It's standard Capcom practice. Let me ask you, did you play any Resident Evil or Monster Hunter or Devil May Cry in the last 20 years? Did you every complain about the MTX? No because it was never blown out of proportion like now. But still all Capcom games have those dumb MTX. Your current video only kills Dragon's Dogma, and will change nothing abouth the MTX practice at all. If you really wanna go against those MTX, you ALL should go and review bomb EVERY Capcom game the same way as Dragons Dogma for the MTX. 3. All of those MTX are single purchase. You don't need ANY of them, because it's all in-game available. You CAN NOT buy additional char slots. It wasn't an excuse for DD1. Just make the other characters unbound. Only the first original fire will be the bound one then. Add oil allow the character to swap. Overwrite no different than when the file. initially made. It's bs. Is these type of games people want extra save files most so that they can make More use of the RPG element.
