How is that dirty? You never bathe in a lake at the beach, took a sip by mistake or use river water for whatever purpose? Natural water is not “dirty”. Biological filtration is a thing and is the same one that happen on large scale but in an aquarium. The biome that do this is on the surface, sands, and other things. They transform constantly amoniac, nitrite ans nitrate ao the water is basically always at its purest. You’re going to get the same quality of water as source water.
