I’m glad he’s articulated this so well! But let’s not forget: no matter how hard we work, at the end of the day, we’re still employees. It’s crucial to split our efforts-half on the job and half on building a secondary source of income. Be more financially savvy than just tech-savvy. After all, money might not buy happiness, but it certainly buys freedom

Savinder Puri Thanks for sharing insights. I saw people go after heavy tools in DevOps and Cloud and forget to learn the fundamentals. As you said in your video I advice everyone to do the fundamental as that's the starting point . Since I was learning basics from the beginning of my career by learning Unix Linux, Writing shell scripting, learning networking basic apart from my regular night job. I choose DevOps and Cloud. So actually if your basics are strong you can learn any tool in DevOps. One more thing practice is very important, Identify your end to end use case and build it and publish it in public.

By far, one of the best videos. I'm transitioning careers From non IT background n initially everyone said DEVOPS is very easy, coding not required. I did a course n it was just horrible. We basically learnt nothing. I spent hours on youtube trying to learn. I spent my time feeling frustrated, anxious, depressed n cried. I hired someone to privately teach me n he knew nothing even though he said he was sr dev ops engineer. I lost hope again n felt useless. like as if im dumb n can't pick up the programming skills. I wanted to move to a technical role more for job security. One thing I can say the courses advertised are just 3 months n very basic. You have to put in blood n sweat trying to troubleshoot without anyone to help you. I'm depressed now n wondering what to do next. 😢

Aap jese logon se prerna lekar aur Google, KZbin ChatGPT, Social Media k madhiyam se is hadd tak pahoncha ki mai kuch bansakta hun aur mai banna chahta hun. Mere sapna cloud engineer hai. Jis k liye sab se pehle maine high speed typing seekha. Aur ab Linux seekh raha hun. Support me (not financial) encourage me n pray for me.

You have explained so beautifully, Sir. I am currently working as an system engineer. I have learned powershell, some ansible on my own and have been using it to deploy patch releases and upgrades. Its not exactly a devops pipeline but running scripts manually. If I want to switch to a DevOps role, shall I start to learn from scratch? Or like you said to build skills on your experience, shall I try to do the things I am doing more better? Also I am doing everything in Azure which I leant from experience but do not have a single certification for it. Does certification impacts my chances of switching into DevOps role?

@savinderpuri3 ай бұрын
1. First 6 months will be difficult, that's your learning phase 2. Focus on what you've started 3. Being difficult is not the reason why you quit - who said SAP is going to be easy?

Kinda difficult to respond with just a 1 liner background. Generic reply - DevOps pays better, IF you're good at it. Mern is easier, but has more competition. Chose wisely!

Look at flexagon.com/flexdeploy/ - they specialise in DevOps for Oracle APEX. See if you can introduce this in your company. The easiest if you can pivot into DevOps in your area of expertise.

Hi Savinder -I have been in IT for over a decade, primarily working with an EAM tool, which has kept me away from programming for a long time. My career in this tool has matured, and I see no further growth opportunities. I want to learn and transition to DevOps, as I have some exposure to it in my current role and believe it would be a better fit for my career. However, my friends have advised me to move to full-stack development because it pays very well-some of them are earning crazy salaries. I'm in a dilemma. Could you shed some light on the career prospects in DevOps and the typical pay ranges in the market for someone with 12 years of IT experience?
@savinderpuri5 ай бұрын
anything can pay well, if you're really really good at it. What do you like to do - programming or DevOpsy stuff? if you're not sure, talk to some people in both the fields and figure out

Sir i know most of the things in Devops but we know that all the things is already configured on production level we don't need to configure a pipeline or CICD and infrastructure as code and the future of devops is Kubernetes most of the companies application is running on kubernetes so k8s needs maintenance and managed the production cluster i really want to become a kubernetes engineer and i have also deployed a microservices application correct me sir if i an saying something wrong.

Looks like you're in a mature setup, where you're not required to setup anything. The world outside could be different, especially after you gain experience. K8s is a popular still to learn.
