15:25, the slide moving back into place I don’t think is even the gun firing, to stop the pistol from firing you’d have to grab the hammer which on most modern weapons is inside of the actual gun. The slide moving backwards is simply loading another round in the chamber. So now your standing there keeping a second round from going into you while you bleed out from the first one. Sef Da Fence
@egor68493 жыл бұрын
It depends on a pistol, a lot of modern handguns (like Glocks for example) have an out of battery safety, which will prevent you from firing until the slide is all the way forward. Still not worth using that move in self defense though.

Yeah pretty much. It's why actual like, firearm-owners associations say that when recounting the situation, you should always say something along the lines of "They were coming right at me" I forget which but I think for a time basically _all_ of those advices used the very same exact wording, which led to South Park making two separate episodes on it across seasons iirc.

For reference, MoistCritical made a video where him and his buddies actually did a little lesson with him, and a lot of the time the things Dale teaches can actually be useful. People think that Dale's training is the "guaranteed foolproof plan to protect yourself" while in reality it's basically your last line of defense. You follow Dale's advice when you're at the point that you think that the person coming for you is going to kill you even if you follow their instructions. People dismiss his teachings because they think he's delusional, while in reality he's just trying to increase people's chances of survival by teaching them simple self defense moves.

The nose and liver are the best targets but pretty hard to actually hit. If you can land a hit on the liver they're going down no matter their size. With that said it's useless if they have a weapon and shouldn't be your only targets. I've learned this through experience in a "fight club" with my buddies. After the 1st time a liver shot was landed we made a rule against it.

The issue I have with his stopping the gun while it fires is that… the reason the gun cocks itself after it fires is because the bullet as it leaves the chamber is also followed by a very high pressurized hot gas that causes the bullet to leave the barrel at the speed of sound, so what gun designers did was create a gas operated system that would take some of this high pressure gas, and force it back into the gun causing the gun to chamber itself before the gas pressure equalizes. Meaning the moment they pull the trigger even if you manually stop the slide from chambering another round, you have to deal with the round that was just fired and is now in your heart and lungs.

It's a great way to give yourself slide bite while also getting shot in the chest. The attacker just needs to move back slightly in order to get the slide back into battery and then immediately pull the trigger and shoot you. This is a very obvious reaction to someone trying to grab your gun, although the attacker probably would never press the gun against your chest anyway as the only way they could be disarmed is if the firearm was within reach of the person's hands they are trying to rob. Why do that when the firearm is perfectly capable of being fired just out of reach of the victim? Every single scenario assumes the attacker is an NPC that will just allow you to complete a very slow QTE and disarm them.

Oh my god the slide thing is so stupid. Aside from the fact that you absolutely cant stop a slide from racking with your hand.. IT DOESNT STOP THE GUN FROM FIRING.. All it does, is stop it from chambering another bullet. Like yeah, guess he cant double tap you but you still get shot. The slide only ejects the casing and chambers another round but has jack shit to do with the hammer striking the primer and propelling the bullet into your smooth brain.

This is not true. Pushing the slide back on pretty much any semi automatic handgun pushes the round back(as it would when ejecting after firing) causing it to be out of battery, and unable to fire. Wrong. The BKA officially classified the kubotan as not a weapon. The reasoning specifically states that while it can be used as a weapon, that doesn't make it one. Kinda based that Pyro actually did some research on the company. My boyfriend worked for these guys for a little bit and they’re quite the characters, for example: 1. They use the NATO phonetic alphabet, but changed some of the “lame ones” (ie Charlie to Cobra) 2. Their jobs are to de escalate a situation first, and call the police afterward 3. Splinter Cell itfa tactical gear 4. Weekly combat training so that they could learn to defend themselves without a gun 5. When they’re in trouble and there are other Vipers in the room, they do this quirky chant while pointing in the direction of the threat. They cross their arms over their heads like they’re the Power Rangers and say “VIPERS!!” And then point at the threat, to which all the Vipers in the room go “HUHHHHHHH” and charge at the unlucky individual 😭 6. My dad is an officer in Detroit, i’ll have to ask him what he knows about these guys. Maybe i’ll show em this video. One of the ways he taught me to disarm someone is to use one hand to grab their wrist and the other to force their hand to bend inward, your hand naturally opens up a bit in that position making it easier to take something out of it. one thing really important that I've seen few people mention is that the tactics he teaches are somewhat valid. They are basically what you may actually be taught in some actual training courses, the issue is that in those courses they are presented in concept, how to manipulate firearms in hand to hand combat so the barrel doesn't get pointed at you any longer than it has to. In contrast he is trying to give step by step instructions on how to just win a fight, which, yeah no, thats not a thing. IF he instead was saying "now when the gun is in this position you want to grab it from here so that you can keep control of the barrel even if they try to move it" then that would be far more acceptable.
