One thing that I have realized is, one can never be happy with what they have in life for prolonged periods of time. The chase is always on. You tend to grow less proud of your past achievements (a sign that you are growing in life). When you want something and you want it very badly, and you get it.. you feel happy.. extremely happy at times.. but you should also realize that you have to live it too. This is the part that many don't take the pain to plan for. Personally I have told myself that it's okay to be unhappy, you cannot be always happy. To keep yourself happy, have a hobby. Other than that, it's too meaningless to expect everyday to be like your first day at job. After giving 3 attempts I am writing this.... Life me ek point aisa bhi aata hai jab aap sochne lagte ho ki that should I quit giving GATE... Finally one conclusion is In Life always move on, don't put too much time for one thing, be optimistic in nature and move for some job, life is not a destination, it's a journey, if you are stuck to gate for 4 to 5 years, it means you are stuck at one point, not moving on. My friend from Mechanical given twice ISRO interview, given gate and scored maximum 60 marks, but after 3 years he moved on and went for Data Science course from IBM for 3 months course, and now he is working at a package of 10lpa, and he is happy with his profile of job, and trying for Google now, hope he geta it one day. Finally at the end it matters happiness, don't think that Gate only gives you happiness, some time it seemed that today you lost but after sometime you realize that it's better you moved on.

Well said Subham, I also got selected in a Miniratna CPSU of Department of Atomic Energy (IREL), previously I was working in a good Private company. But I left my PSU job in 8 months despite I was Senior Engineer there, as you said things are not same as we suppose from distance. It was not satisfying my requirements. I left the job and again joind my previous private company, definitely it's not satisfying me but at least facilities are better here than that PSU.

After seeing your video .....it appears to me that u realised PSUs are not worth it ,myself being in ONGC curse day and night why did i join this psu i was happily doing my M tech from IIT kgp ,definitely could have been decently placed.....but this is part and parcel of life u cant change ur decisions u can just regret it. Sir i think the video should be more targeted towards parents because they also make their children narrow minded towards private jobs.

@@humane11 Bro you are drawing wrong inferences of my statement, i am not criticizing ONGC. It is just that i have made a wrong decision of joining it because of my parental pressure. Generally people joining PSUs carry mixed emotions about working culture some feel good some feel bad. My point is people working in VLSI and signal processing areas are also doing good..... and getting handsome package. My friends and seniors are decently placed in big game masters of their field like Texas instruments, Intel, mathworks, AMD and they are happy. Unlike People working in PSU they don't carry mixed emotions.

Practically people are not getting jobs even to start the career so the only way remain in front of them is to crack some exam and get a job. I don't no about you that whether you had secured a job offer after your BTech from NIT but people in private colleges don't get job to even start their career despite being a topper all the way. So they are tending towards gate upsc and all.

But on the other hand if one pursue GATE the option of higher education is always welcoming.
