We reserved a golf cart and drive down to the beach town. It was fast, safe and fun. Red Shirt Golf carts behind the port shops but also online for pre booking

I remember when Costa Maya would have one ship in the Port back in the day, plan an excursion, or know how many ships will be in the Port when planning your visit, the last few times I’ve been there it’s been totally overcrowded too many mega ships they are ruining all the ports with too many people go far away to a beach, take a ship excursion guarantee to get you back, and the ship will not leave you

If you have never done it then yes once but the prices are different every time we have been. Normally the cruise has the prices listed. It’s worth doing once but I doubt we ever do it again. I did it way back in early 2000s.

We swam with the Dolphins when we were there on RCL in April.

Went there in November 2024. I would never go there again. There were quite a few skin care shops where their employees were aggressively pushy to try or buy their products it made it extremely unpleasant. They would stand outside insisting you take one of their skincare samples. If you take it they try to convince you to go into their store where they deceptively try to get you to try more products and I understand that if you try it they will then make you pay for it when they make it sound free. When we refused the lady started shouting at us "Don't you care, Don't you care?" she was referring to don't you care about our skin not to be interested in their products. This was not just at one store it was all the skin shops.. It was really awful. They bullied people to try to get them to buy.. Then we walked by the area where the flamingoes are. I felt so sorry for them. One looked very sick. And they have them in a very small man made concrete pool, no food in the water all day. Very unnatural. If they open their wings you can see their wings are clipped so they cant leave the area. They did not act normal. These birds are not being treated well. We had wanted to go to the aviary but seeing the flamingo's completely put us off from going. I'm sorry this is not a good review. but the experience was awful. If we went on another cruise and it stopped there we would stay onboard.

I enjoyed that port, but we also went out in the jungle to the Mayan ruins and hung out with the spider monkeys The dolphins seemed very sad when we were there in March

I do a lot of dolphins excursions on my cruises. This one may be fun, but the water is disgustingly dirty. Don’t get in it just sit and watch people doing the dolphins instead instead save your money.

This is one of my favorite ports! So much to do right there! Hit the aviaries as soon as you get there. Hang out in the big pool during the day. Hit the smaller pool on the way back to the ship. Watch the dolphins for free. Great food options. No reason to leave or take an excursion. 😉🏖🏝🛳

PS. I only sail in the off season. I've never seen so many people there as there is in your video. Wow. I'll stick to off season when there's like 4 people in the pool. 😂
