2 Patti is a lot of things-a mystery, a thriller, traces of comedy, and a soap opera with a splash of social commentary. Kajol and Kriti 1 and 2 do their best to keep it all afloat, but there’s only so much they can do when the plot is mostly a series of glossy visuals held within a wispy screenplay that would have been better suited to a 30-minute tight short. There’s a sheen to the film that feels out of place with its heavier themes. Everything looks a little too polished, too perfect as if the rough edges of the characters’ lives have been filed away. The plasticity makes it harder to connect with the rawness of what Saumya and Shailey are going through. It feels like a film that wants to say something meaningful about the human condition, especially about complex women who refuse to fit into neat boxes, but little of it comes through. Being a diehard Kajol fan, I am not convinced with her acting this time. She is a complete misfit for this Haryanvi accent. The accent comes and goes throughout the movie.

The film was so overcooked that it ultimately tasted bland. I couldn't finish it. And kajol was too desperate to appear badass. She failed at that too.

I feel sad for the little me who loved Kajol. She is still stuck in 90s and I hate to say this, she hasn't grown as an actor. Yes, I said it and it breaks my heart.

Why is nobody talking about the bland acting of Kajol in the movie. Where in the beginning she is speaking in a Haryanvi accent “phone, phallow”, etc. Gradually as the movie moves ahead her accent changes to completely urban by the end court room scene. Also, very bad hair and makeup of Kajop who looks completely Urban with her coloured, blow-dried hair and flicks. Nevertheless, her character was written so poorly where we dont know why exactly she is so interested in a domestic violence case that she goes all the way to haryana to inquire about it. Whats her back story? How are her verbal journals useful to the plot? Why is she so bothered just by looking at the twins in the first scene? And why the hell in words she is so marcho but in her expression she’s super confused & scared. Kajol f*dup this time and really needs to put a little effort in her acting.

Fantastic observations. Kajol is still reliving in her 90s glory. IDK whether it makes sense or not, but her lackluster marriage made her so inconfident in her personal life, it reflects in her art !

That is a production issue, not Kajol's fault. It's the director and production's job to make sure there's consistency and to provide a dialect coach or else refrain from using an accent. Her backstory is clearly defined as a no-nonsense rule-follower like her Judge father, who sent her own brother to jail because she believes in living by the book. Thus creating the evolution at the end. As for being interested in a DV case, you feel being an educated woman isn't enough motivation? It's not the case itself that makes her go to Haryana, it's his attitude and aggression in her own Police station, when he tears up her notes in front of the entire police force. And I don't know what movie you were watching but she was neither confused nor scared at all. I do feel that they should have given her at least one fight scene, particularly when he walks into her own house and puts his hands on her (thereby giving her valid reason to use force in self-defense) but again, that's a direction/script issue and not Kajol.

I loved Kritis acting. She's soooo good in both roles. She's not acting... she dissappears. Both her characters are alive onscreen. Kajol is very cute and powerful. Shaheer is scary, creepy and charming. His acting is so good! ... actually I have seen men like him in my community, so I thought he's pretty realistic. I loved this movie. For the acting. I loved it. I dont get the negative reviews... I didn't feel bored at all. It's great. I like the cinematography. Big point is - the movie isnt cheesy. Like, I have watched other movies of this genre and this one actually felt real. I felt the pain and anger of the characters.

Watched it, and quite let down by it. The bg music is bad ! Especially during light hearted dialogues. And most importantly, Kajol's act falls flat infornt of Kriti Sanon. In their scenes together, Kriti steals The show. Kareena has aged well actingwise. Same can't be said about Kajol Sadly.

I actually enjoyed the film despite it's flaws. Darlings is a film that nails the realistic character of how abusive husbands behave, but do Patti is a film that could actually do well at the box office had it been released on the theaters. I wish that it was, and that it could really penetratie into the largee audience that need a wakeup call against domestic abuse

Using this platform to raise my voice to the makers, writers, actors - it is great to highlight such harsh realities but it is very important to even show the outcome of such people, as the onus then comes upon all the people who are involved in such projects...ONLY GREAT ACTING IS NOT ENOUGH...such wives, ladies need more of relief points such as how to stand strong, never ever take any bullshit, not to avoid the red flags, and take help from family and friends, instead of waiting to the point of getting murdered like shown in this film

Holi ka seen dal na hi kiun tha. Samajh nahi aya. The film started like that diwali ka rocket jo adhe raste jake khatam ho gaya. But I loved shaheer Sheikhs potrail of the intimate partner, abuser, a nagative volatile personality, uska screen space bohot kaam hay. Movie ka dynamics between soumya shailee and Dhruv aur achha hosakta tha.

Holi scene was needed. SPOILERS SO DO NOT READ IF YOU DIDN'T WATCH MOVIE It was to cement Shailee was not involved... she's sitting on the bike so Kajol pays her no attention. It also showed the affair to kajol clearly without doubt. The full public understands the sisters are enemies. And before the plot twist, it shows the final nail for Saumya to make up her mind with Dhruv... and it can also be the final nail for Dhruv to get rid of Saumya given how angry he got at end of Holi scene. While everyone in town is at the Holi ground, commiting the crime is easy. It had many reasons to be there.

@@letstrytogetbetterokay8516 the affair was already shown to kajol at jeep seen, though, generally any small town if any thing happens whole town knows but they talk. and saumya and dhruv both had maid there minds up it was clearly seen at soumyas voice and Dhruvs' attitude just before the Holi seen yes to establish a plot twist a Holi seen was added, uske bina v ho sakta tha after all all three were practical leaving together.

@@Thebongmind no but Saumya needed to see Dhruv with Shailee in the affair in public. It was the point of Dhruvs total disregard and shaming of Saumya. He usually did it behind closed doors but here he showed he did not care anymore. Dhruv had not made his mind up. He wanted to patch up with Saumya and play with both sisters. It's to fool the viewer that he did make his mind up at the end. They could have chosen another scene but then, it would be typical... the Holi was different.

this movie was not without flaws no doubt but it wasn’t bad imo not once did you mention how amazing the music (BGM and songs like ranjhan) and the fact that you can find flaws in the script and screenplay yes but not in kriti’s performance this was truly her best performance till date if it was alia or a dharma you would be scraping the barrel to find positives such as shame honestly anyways i actually enjoyed it if you compare this film to the kind of content that netflix india produced it was far superior i think

Why did they typecast that a girl wearing shorts, short hair and smokes and drinks is empowered and the girl with long hair wearing suits is timid and not strong to stand for herself . It would have been better if they reversed for a change .

*There was only one good thing about the movie: Performances of Kriti Sanon & Shaheer Sheikh *Rest everything was big shit, ridiculous and cringe. *There was no soul in the movie. Story, Screenplay, Music (except Madhaaniyan), Acting by other actors, Background Music, etc. - everything was so mediocre. *I am really disappointed by Kanika Dhillon (the writer). She has really let down this time, especially after her Haseen Dilruba writing, I was expecting some good story, screenplay in this movie, but sorry to say it was totally spineless & mindless. *Same goes for Kajol, she has (over)acted, so badly. She didn't do justice to this role. She is really misfit for both the roles which she has played. And I didn't understand why she was speaking multiple languages in her role - Hindi, Garhwali, Punjabi & Haryanvi. It didn't suit her personality. Simple hindi would have been better. *Tanvi Azmi - she is brilliant actress. She has acted convincingly in many movies, but here she was just doing overacting. Maybe there was no meat in her role or it was not written properly. *Dialogues are very poor, specially between Shaheer & Kajol, Shaheer & Tanvi, and Court Room. *Court Room scenes - Cringe Cringe Cringe - No mind has been used while writing the court scenes. Judges don't have their own common sense and even they don't follow the simple rules of judiciary. An investigating officer cannot be the lawyer in his/her own case. Only showing the prescription & medicines, cannot form the base of any decision. Court always summon the consulting doctor or their own medical expert to understand the patient's condition. Wah Wah Wah. What A Court!!! *Subject - a very good subject was there in hand but scripting and screenplay was so ridiculous that it spoiled everything. It could have much much much better if it would have been written with a sensible mind.

*Spoiler alert* . . . . The twins ARE very diabolical. You can be evil and still have good in you or vice versa. It screams that villains are not born, they are made. (Atleast in the case of twins)

@@wordinaryeardough9016 it was pretty unhinged. At a very realistic level. Both suffered from mental illness and trauma. You don't have to be a serial killer to be unhinged - strangers don't matter. Messing with your family is actually the most toxic and unhinged thing to do. Ignoring your family while they suffer torture is also crazy - for an adult. Even their interactions with other people is so fake... Saumya is not innocent and Shailee is not actually so bad. Both are sly, insecure, anxious, scared and selfish, but come of as opposites in front of others.

This movie was quoted as an example for what should not be written, by one of the critics on 'Kya Drama Hai by Mukkarram', while they were reviewing 'Dunyapur'. Equally lacking TV series. Had to check what Suchu, our home girl is saying on this, jab padosi log buraiyan kar rahe hein. 😂

It's a good movie. I just watched it. I don't understand the negative reviews for the movie. The story is good compared to a lot of other movies that are given higher reviews. Give it a watch, seriously... all the casts acting, especially Kriti Sanons is superb. I think this is my favorite movie from Kriti. ❤❤

Kajol pulled it off bad. Her accent kept on shifting as if she kept on forgetting she is playing a certain character. Shifting from the " evidently fake accent" to the normal "kajol" accent her portrayal of the character was very weak. Saying a few words differently doesnt help, whereas the people in bollywood would be going mad with awe on the very little to no effort she had put in to say "suwal" precisely 3 times while her performance. She might as well be the next on that oscar nomination list according to some commercial minds in bollywood. Sad.

Well I really think the “uncertainty” was intentionally and I think it worked. Also I don’t get this spree of negative review! I loved the film I think it delivers and everyone is greatttt in it. We should be proud of the film and the topic it deals with in an entertaining way and hope that more strong narratives come out rather than bhool bhulaiyan and singham lol. Aachi film pe bhi aisa review doge toh ye bhi nhi banegi madam. I get that it wasn’t the bestest film and had its set of flaws but it loved and it was definitely worth a watch. So let’s just not talk about only the flaws? I would also like to add that as a film critic who I like, I valued your opinion and thought maybe it wasn’t that great and had decided to not watch it but only because I was bored and had nothing to do I thought of giving it a shot. So your reviews really matter and help viewers decide what content to watch. I am not blaming you for deciding for me, coz that’s completely on me but just had to add.

Kanika definitely needs co-writer to bounce ideas off and polish her script. The courtroom scenes were very choppy and unrealistic; *SPOILER ALERT* I get that you're trying to pass a moral message, but even the most backwater town in the world will not accept lengthy tirades in the witness box unchallenged, and the defense lawyer was little better than Amber Heard's defense team, for someone who's connected to a rich, political family. He doesn't even call Saumya to the witness box to discredit her as the plaintiff and pretty much admits his client is guilty by saying "such tiffs are common in households" and that too, to a FEMALE JUDGE. Did he buy his law degree off the internet?! And there needed to be more work on either the editing to choose the right cuts, or else a dialect coach on set, as Kajol's accent is very inconsistent throughout the film. She says "phamily philm" and immediately follows it by "horror film" instead of "haarar philm" as an example.

Following Sucharita from so long, and really rely on her reviews before watching a movie . Thank God didn’t rely on this review to watch this movie. Easily has to be one of the worst movie to come out this year on Netflix. Absolutely disgusting. None of the characters were developed,no emotional attachment with any. Was Kajol on sasta nasha when signing the film. Sanon production house will close in months 😂 What have we done wrong to watch such a mess?? Kajol accent keeps changing! Horrible script.
