This approach seems advantageous since it would allow you to gain significant flying experience and start earning money sooner. Plus, by the time you reach the regional airlines, you’ll likely spend a year or more there. This would provide a seamless path where you could complete your online degree and position yourself as a competitive candidate for transitioning directly to a major airline. Additionally, I'm turning 27 and don't have the option to attend an in-person four-year college, making this path a more practical and time-efficient solution for my career goals.

Hey Garret question: (or anyone here with an opinion on this) I took the med card exam and been waiting for awhile for an approval for a tier 1. Only b/c I did smoke weed way back when when I was 18 and failed a drug test (I was naive). 27 now qns never failed another. What are your thoughts about this? Have you heard of anyone getting their med card through similar experience? The FAA just keeps telling me I’m in the review process :’) also does a driving record matter? I recently got into an accident with a truck and kissed a park car no injuries… never been in an accident my entire life until my dispatch team sent me to a bad area

It’s never too old to start, already having your ppl or Cpl and flight time is great, think about it like this in the absolute worse case scenario you will have 10 years of a very fulfilling career. And with your experience, entering the industry will not be a challenge.
