As a pilot who is in flight training now. I appreciate Q&A’s like this every once in a while. Maybe bringing on a guest every once in a while would be nice too. I appreciate the openness and thoughtfulness you take towards your videos on social media. It really reminds viewers like myself that there is a real person on the other side of the camera. Thanks again.

Hey Garrett! I have been following your page for a little while and I must say that I use it as motivation to achieve my goals of becoming a professional airline pilot. I just wrapped up my commercial training and am getting ready to start building those hours (instructing) to get to one of the regionals I currently have CJOs with. Having the chance to get an inside view and idea from you is awesome and seeing the things that can be accomplished keeps me super hungry to be my best and cruise through those hours. I think what you're doing it awesome and I think these "Debrief" videos are a cool change of pace! You inspire a ton of folks and I encourage you to keep at it! Stay safe brother!

I admire all of your efforts to do your videos. It is interesting to see your progress and successes. Develop a thick skin, and don't let the naysayers get you down. It is fun to see you maturing into a young man. Overcoming the doubts and trying to "find" yourself. It is all part of life. And I enjoy seeing Bella. She is special and a joy ~!! Grant in Phoenix

I completely agree with your take on Part 141 University training. Having a clearcut path to follow, classes tailored to your interests, would have done wonders for me in college. That said, if I had a kid I’d probably encourage them to find a practical backup plan/major and maybe minor in aviation; get the PPL as an elective, finish ratings outside of school.

I don’t have Instagram, but I do have a question that could be relevant to others. I’m a single dad, transitioning out of the Air Force to a Major soon (God willing). Do you know any single mother or father pilots? What would be the biggest hurdles to being a single parent at a Major? I know you’re not a dad (except Bella), but I’d still be interested in hearing your take. Thanks, Tom

Hey Garrett, I was wondering how likely is it that A.I will takeover the occupation of commercial pilot? I am concerned that I might start a career that ultimately leads to a dead end.
@AlphaWhiskeyAviation6 ай бұрын
As someone working on ratings at 39 years old, lemme just reassure you no job is “safe”. You can fail at something you didn’t want to do in the first place. Since Covid, I watched my friends who stuck with aviation make leaps that we never thought were possible when we were staring down the aviation industry in the early 00’s. If you are going to fly for more than a paycheck, it’s always going to be better than any other career. That said, AI will never take over all of aviation. There will always be pay for pilots somewhere.
@AviatorSupreme6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reply, I can assure you that I don't just want it for the money. However, do you believe that fully automated planes will exist?
@mikep96046 ай бұрын
@@AviatorSupreme This is what Airbus company has said. Airbus company stated that "pilots will remain at the heart of operations." Airbus company said: "For autonomous technologies to improve flight operations and overall aircraft performance, pilots will remain at the heart of operations." "Autonomous technologies are paramount to supporting pilots, enabling them to focus less on aircraft operation and more on strategic decision-making and mission management." As you can notice the purpose of these technologies is to improve flight operations and support pilots in their work.
