If you’re wondering whether to invest in rechargeable or battery powered hearing aids, you need to consider your lifestyle to choose the best type of hearing aid for you. Rechargeable hearing aids and battery powered bearings aids have different pros and cons and usually one is better for a person depending on their lifestyle.
One example:
If you get 7-9 hours of sleep, rechargeable hearing aids could be good for you.
If you work, or need to hear around the clock, battery powered hearing aids can be better for you.
What type of hearing aids compliments your lifestyle? Rechargable or battery powered hearing aids?

I love my rechargeable hearing aids because of the convenience of not having the battery die right in the middle of me doing something important. That being said, I have found one problem with the rechargeables. When I connect my hearing aids with a bluetooth device, such as a television connector, the batteries drain much quicker, sometimes draining completely. I currently overcome this problem by using both hearing aids with a bluetooth for about an hour. After that I put one hearing aid in the charger and leave it for an hour, then I rotate the hearing aids for another hour of recharging. This system is a bit inconvenient but it works. My recommendation to the hearing aid manufacturers is to select rechargeable batteries that would only need to be recharged every other day so that the batteries would have enough charge for an entire single day of bluetooth use.

Yes! We need longer lasting batteries. I would LOVE to see a swappable rechargeable battery feature. (Shhhh, that’s a spoiler alert for a video coming soon;)

I have the National Health Service and we get batteries for free which is ideal for me. My only drawback with my Phonak hearing aids is that the tone for telling you that you need to change the batteries is very quiet.

That’s a good point that the tone is quiet. I few times my ReSound has died and it frustrates me because I never heard the warning tone. :P
