Do Resellers REALLY give deals at video game expos?

Not really. Usually, all the deals are made before the conventions starts by influencers and fellow resellers who have early access. From a vendor's perspective, there is no reason to let it go of a game if he or she knows it can be sold at a higher price at a later time in their stores or online. You may get good deals on slow moving inventory if what you are looking for are within that slow moving inventory of the vendor of the booth you are shopping.

Interesting theory for sure. We rarely see a vendor give a good deal before the expo starts, especially considering they can wait until it starts and get basically full price most of the time. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

@@JRPGLife What turned me off of professional resellers (Folks who hunt down cheap games and resell them. I wouldn't include most game vendors in this) were the many many videos from Chase and Phoenix getting early access and spending $10K+ buying inventory at a huge influencer discount at a convention I was about to go to.

​@@benigfrom everything we have experienced so far, KZbinrs get in the same time as any other VIP entries, and get the same deals that VIP entries get. The only difference is the spending power granting better bulk deals. Any Joe off the street that buys a VIP pass with a decent amount of money can get the exact same deals. The only difference is that some people film it for others to watch. As for "taking all of the best inventory before anyone else can," never have Caleb or Chase ever bought "all" of the available inventory, and I challenge you to find one instance proving otherwise. 😊

I don’t know if you’ve picked up Silent Hill Homecoming since this video but I’ve noticed GameStops have gotten a reprint of sorts with that and the HD collection at almost every GameStops I’ve been too. Super clean case every time and complete so I definitely think they got a reprint and open them up to sell them used.

We really wished we could've been there this year. It looked great! Unfortunately, our son suffers from a little thing we call backseat road rage and just wouldn't have been able to do the drive calmly. We're working on it, so hopefully next year he'll be able to tolerate it more plus the show. Ontario was in our backyard, so that was easier for him. It's just hard because he loves going to arcades, cons, and events with us, but he gets overwhelmed easily. Its one of the few things we can connect with him on.

Reseller(s) only became a dirty word recently thanks to the ticket prices going out of control for the eras tour. All the bad press from that has really caused that word to become notorious for a bad reason in the past year or so. I don't blame anyone for selling things they have actually used, but when fans can't enjoy their favorite things because people buy up multiple copies of a game (or in this case tickets) for the purpose of reselling to true fans to make a profit I kinda chafe at that. At the end of the day though it's business and if you don't like the price then don't buy it.

What’s a fair price at a convention for a game that goes for $80 at the lowest possible Buy It Now everywhere? (eBay, Amazon, etc)

The resellers hope you’ll put out for the higher rates, and will wait it out as they sell normal stock for around retail. Like two years the Trine trilogy on the Switch I got for like $45 since if you wanted them 100% physical it was the only way, the 4 pack only has the 4th game physical with the other 3 digital, and now the trilogy is now triple the price according to price charting. So likely resellers will see the rarity of something like that, and try to inflate the value or get lucky for that one desperate sucker.

I think the only bad Silent Hill game is the Vita one. The rest are all different levels of greatness to me. If you're someone who enjoys playing old school survival horror, I would think you'd be happy with Homecoming. It's not an A+, but it's sure better than nothing, and 100000x better than that lame vita game.

I find it funny how buying two items somehow equates to a bundle. Technically, I guess a bundle is more than one thing, but so many times you guys grab two things and as for a deal. Like the vendor is like, OMG two whole things!?!?! I better cut my prices!! I suspect you only get most of the deals since your holding a camera in their face and they know who you are/don't want to look bad. If a place has things priced correctly, buying two things and thinking you should get a deal is lame, especially if it's like two $30 things. If the seller has high prices, I'd negotiate everything or just not shop their, but wouldn't buy two things and say give me a bundle deal.
