Am I the only one blatantly pissed about the fact that most of the Riot Employees only play during their work hours? Like, not only does that mean they do nothing on their own game, but also they get money and other pros just for doing basically nothing except wasting hours into videogames, which may be cool and all. If I would work my ass off at a restaurant I bet I'd get only like 1/8 of the RIot Employees loan.

It's a private company, they can have the work culture they want. In the end its Riot that is paying them, if they don't think they get their moneys worth the employees will be fired im sure. They said they were "result" based and that basically means they arrange task they need to handle in a given time, and when they will work on it in that time limit is up to themselves, as long as it is solved in time.

I can't say for Riot but for my old office we were allowed play anything we wanted during lunch hours or if we were assigned a specific task we'd play a certain game and write a report on it. Would we play our own games - yes, but regardless if it's fun or not you wouldn't primarily be playing for fun.

Well now we know Riot sounds like a horrible place to work from a productivity standpoint. I'd understand wanting employees to play the game their working on so they understand what they're working with, but aside from that, this is out of hand. There's better ways to do this - they could set aside an hour a day where League is allowed or provide some incentives to play outside of work, but letting employees just have free rein at any point in time to play any game, League related or not has to be the worst thing you could do. Riot could probably do the same work with half the employees if they had a balanced policy regarding gaming in the work place

but i thought about it and like... what else should they be doing when they have nothing else to do... obviously noone is getting paid to do nothing... i think this as the IT department at my workplace... they sit around and do basicaly nothing most of the time but then once in a while that there is a problem they fix it really quickly and of course there are moments when they have to update/upgrade a sections of the pc in the workspace... or give access to different documents to multiple accounts on the network ect... so to someone visiting the company a certain day they would look at the IT team and say yeah they do nothing why are we paying them... but its way easier to keep somone at the ready and play them even if they dont do something all the time just for the convinience of having them at the ready... cuz the quicker a problem is resolved the less money the company loses (aka they lose more but not having these people "do nothing" tha not having them entirely)

There this BPO company in Philippines that holds League of legends email/chat support account. I tried applying too sad didn't get accepted. But the employees say that They're allowed to play the game They're supporting during free time (i assume they use company computers to play) which is kinda weird, lol since i alwasy expect that company computers have low specs and is only intended for company use and processes not to play games.

Play league of legends at work but still patch 9.14 breaks almost every champion and servers had so many issues. Does not seem right, spend more time fixing everything instead of playing League or any other game. However, I have to agree that even at my work, sometimes you just don't have anything to do for a bit. Certainly when your job is: do X and nothing else. In that case, if there is nothing to do, you just do something else so I still kinda give them the right to play something to fill time if they're not needed. This video makes me wonder if Riot employees spend more time gaming than working on the game or vice versa. You need to work whenever you're needed and when things are important and you should not play games 7 hours out of 8.

I quit 2014, came back 2018 when i went to a esport course for a year and played for 5 months. DUring that time there were so much shit if found that shouldn't be in the game or is a bug, hitboxes, balance ect it was ridiculous. I were extremely furious about it andsaid that either Riot Games have no idea what they're doing or they're not doing jack shit let alone their job. I can say that i were right all along and i can't apply to riot games until i have a full-edged education. I don't need an education to fix half this shit, i didn't spend my entire life in front of screen for no literal reason.

There is a reason why he is not challenger but that doesn't mean he is bad at the game considering most of the players are around silver. Maybe he is bad at macro compared to a challenger or GM but that doesn't mean he is bad as a player.

People get such twisted views by only watching players that have been to challenger. They always trash talk people that are in any league that is lower then themsleves. Fact of the matter is that the 85th percentile is good (Plat 1). Being in the 85th percentile means you aren't going to win any money by playing competitively, but you are a solid player with a decent understanding of the game. Anyone that tells you that plat is bad or that plat is low elo has a stick up their ass.

This sounds like they have way too many employees, because they still clearly get work done, but I doubt 3-4k people are ever working on the patches or champs or art. They used to get jobs done as an indie company of less than 100 people. They get stuff done at roughly the same rate, just at higher quality. Quality is not from more people, however.
