I immigrated from Georgia to the USA in 1992. Later I brought my parents here. Last several years before their deaths my parents enjoyed the life they never could dreamed of before. My mom witnessed our success in a new country. Yet, because of lack of English she had to watch Russian TV channels. News from those channels made her extremely concerned about our future, and one day she says to me "Maybe we made a mistake coming here, it would be better if we went to Russia". I asked why she thinks so, and her answer was that in the news they say that horrible times are coming for Americans, and in Russia things are improving every day. Propaganda is so strong that my mom believed in what she heard from television and not what she saw with her own eyes. When I told her not to listen that BS, her reply was "They don't lie in television".

Unfortunately Russia has infested every language with their porpaganda these days. It did take a huge hit at the beginning of the war though. Europe banned it and in the US it was dropped by all the providers so they simply had to close their studio because no one would broadcast it. KZbin shut down their channels and Google/Apple shut down their apps. They did a ton of damage though all over the Western world.I hope in the future we will be less willing to allow such dirty tricks to be allowed to exist in our nations.

Yeah in UDSSR and USA was a lot of propaganda too and everyone demonized the enemie. But it's the exact same scheme : Germans were told they had to protect themselves against Poland and later SSSR because they would endanger Germany and since east Prussia was separated from the rest of Germany by Poland and Germans there weren't being treated very well a lot of people believed it and gladly went to war. Thinking they were protecting their fatherland, they realized too late that they were in fact leading an attack in a foreign country.

Daniel, you're my new hero! What you are doing is both heroic and ordinary. Because of where you live and the lingering undercurrents of the corruption and authoritarianism of the former Soviet Union, you put yourself in grave danger for doing what journalists do the world over. We here in the U.S. have been dealing with this slide towards authoritarianism as well, the election of Donald Trump being the most glaring example, he and Putin are cut from the same cloth, both narcissistic megalomaniacs. But it's wonderful to see the open minded attitudes of the young people of Russia, and some of the elderly as well (the older teacher in your "Asking 100 people about the U.S. was especially wise). I wish you the best and hope your channel continues having remarkable success, but stay safe! It would probably be wise to always have someone watching your back while you do your interviews, however I have a feeling that your success and popularity may very well give those in power cause to hesitate, as what you are doing, your humanitarian effort will be seen by the rest of the world in the best light and right now Russia can use all of the good P.R. she can get!

It's not scary, it's sad. I truly feel sorry for these brainwashed people. It is not their fault that the Russian rulers have fed them so much shit for so long. It's interesting that the lady says that the "West" has produced a generation of Russiophobia (or whatever she said). The amusing thing (in a dark humour kind of way) is that probably no normal peace loving human in the "west" had any ill feeling toward Russia before they invaded a sovereign neighbouring country and started committing horrendous war crimes.... I always feel that whatever a pro-Russian pro-war person says would be more appropriate if they were standing in front of a mirror, talking to themselves....

Since 1991 we have seen NATO grow towards Russia, despite the promise from West "not one inch closer" - so if the West are not stopped today in Ukraine, what do you think will happen to Russia after Ukraine becomes NATO, Zelensky gets Nukes, and Ukrainian Azov's finish killing off all Russian speaking citizens in Eastern Ukraine?
@nomadundercover3018
@nomadundercover3018 Жыл бұрын
@@delawarecop NATO never signed any treaty with Russia "promising" not to move "1 inch closer." Please link to such a treaty- one does not exist. The only one murdering Russian speaking Ukrainians in Donbas since 2014 until today is Russia. If they did not want civilians to die collateral damage as a result of Russian and Ukrainian fighting back in 2014, then Russia shouldn't have invaded, sparking the first major European war since 1945. Are people in Russia so stupid as to assume that 1) they could invade a country without the military fighting back and 2) when said military fights back, civilians won't die as a result of said invaded country defending itself? Anyhow it's obvious now that 1) Russia cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons and 2) "Kaliningrad" (Koenigsberg in the original German name) needs to be taken from Russia, as they are far too irresponsible to control such an important piece of real estate. Russia started it and now NATO really is coming for you.

To remind you that the bastards from NATO dragged out the war for 8 months, despite the fact that it was supposed to end in less than a month and now everything would be as before, even better. All military airfields in Ukraine were destroyed in the first week of the war. All warehouses with Ukrainian weapons are also Russia has absolutely the entire map of Ukraine since Soviet times. But NATO made it so that the Ukrainians will now fight to the last Ukrainian. And it could already be over. It is on your conscience that there will be 25 million fewer people in the world in a year. Because Putin will wipe Ukraine off the face of the earth. This man will stop at nothing...

And even NATO intervention will not save Ukraine, because Putin will use nuclear weapons... Well, I think the end of the West is near. Considering that some members of the Russian government have urgently flown from Moscow to the Siberian bomb shelters, and the rest of Russia is now preparing bomb shelters for the population, I see it with my own eyes everywhere in the cities. But you could have influenced NATO. But they didn't. For this you will pay.

@@renomed This is exactly why I second guess myself. Here in the west, we're also told things that reassure what we want to believe - and to the Russians, I'm sure we sounds as backwards as they do to us. How do we know that western media isn't controlling us in the same way? Although, It's obvious that Russia has an history of propaganda campaigns.
@Risumey
@Risumey Жыл бұрын
why do you consider others victims of propaganda, but not you? Why did the US actively get involved in the process and finance the armed genocide of Russians in the eastern regions of Ukraine? Why did residents of other regions not care that their government was killing Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine? Why is President Biden's son a link in the corruption chains in Ukraine and part of the administration of Ukrainian business companies? Think about it, maybe your position is the position of a descendant of slave owners and colonialists: your ancestors killed and kept slaves taken out of Africa in slavery. And even earlier, the founders of "America" killed entire tribes of native Americans. Now they live in your reservations, without developing their culture, while you use the resources of their land. Also read how America annexed the southern states in the war with Mexico. Read about 150 military conflicts involving the United States in previous decades. If there is a country that initiates wars all the time, and this country is the United States, and the United States is interested in this conflict, they have been financing Russophobia for more than 30 years, and have been pumping weapons into Ukraine in recent years. Then why don't you want to see the true initiator of the war? Maybe because you and people like you are the victims of your propaganda? You are looking about VPN . Many people have VPN, and we speak enough English, there is also a service for translating any video from language to language browser .yandex.ru/help/search-and-browse/translators-settings.html - read it, use it. So, we look at different sources, KZbin is not filtered, so we can watch videos in any language and understand. Do you watch something besides your propaganda, your TV and KZbin videos that are not only pleasant and understandable to your limited perception? No, you're not looking. So maybe it's you and people like you who don't understand what's going on?
