Do: 1. Take time on set up 2. Keep bar on heel of hand 3. Be far enough from J cups to not hit them 4. Keep shoulders packed after pulling bar out of J cups 5. Keep elbows tucked 6. Keep bar path consistent 7. Push back into bench 8. Use leg drive 9. Bent over row 10. Use variation and volume

chad choj yes close grip bench press, dips and seated overhead Dumbell triceps extension (powerbomb). Some people don’t feel close grip bench press as well in their triceps however. It is a very technical movement if you want to do if safely though the dip and progressive overload is easier to implement on close grip bench press.

@@chadchoj2851 I find keeping my torso upright and tucking my elbows in (I imagine trying to touch them together) helps, but more cues would be great.

Not confident on the arching but will work the triceps and rows more directly. I definitely have issues with racking and I racking. Namely one height setting at my gym is a bit high and I struggle to get it off, but the next lowest one is too low and I’m doing a quarter rep to get into position. Will try the hips thing on the higher one because that’s genius
@USCtrojanFootball15 жыл бұрын
He'll ya, good information. It seems I've been unracking the bar wrong all this time. Lifting my hips & keeping my shoulder blades locked is what I'm going to do now. Before I would lock my shoulder blades but then go flat sometimes since my arms are short & wouldn't lift my hips to unrack. I was blaming it on my arthritis in my shoulder. I think this is going to help me. Thank you.

Really good content. Some of the tips were familiar to me but some others just blow my mind. Specially when it comes to the barbell row: I couldnt lift heavy weights with my back cause the doctor told me it would increase my injury. It appeared to be the main reason why my bench was stuck. I am SO glad to see you saying this in your video... I would only add one tip: to reinforce the forearm. What do you think about it? I am not a big guy and I had problems lifting heavy weights because I couldnt stand with the weighted bar sometimes. Maybe its a stupid advice but it helped me. Anyway, thank you so much from Barcelona.

KentuckyCelt it mainly depends on your wingspan and what width you can bench while keeping your elbows tucked and traps dug into the bench.
