Thank you Brian! I "study" for my Friday PRs on Thursday nights and your videos, especially this and your others on breathing and bracing, helped me reach a new PR today! 265lbs!💪🤩 I was amazed at how easy it felt with what I learned from you last night! Thank you! (I'm 52 years old and just started powerbuilding/powerlifting back in January)

A nice refresher!! Thank you Brian!! I implemented breathing at the top of OHP today and learned how to breath and brace from you! I was out of the gym for a year and a half due to some health issues. I just finished my third week today and your tips have given me an excellent foundation to rebuild the house on. It helps a lot that you already taught me these techniques and I implement them in all my Big 5 lifts (OHP and front squat included). They’ve helped me tremendously over the years!! Keep it up Brian and get well soon my friend!!! Always appreciate your content!

Great stuff as usual! One of my favorite things about this channel is it hasn't become commercialized (which probably isn't a financial bonus for Brian but good for us) nor has he brought in a bunch of other lifters to boost his channel. Also I'm still able to watch with my sons and don't have to worry about crude humor or filthy language. Thanks Brian! Hope to meet you some day!

This guy talks about what REAL extremely strong athletes really do. It’s not that commercial shit that your average guy follows. He lets us in on how to be or work up to the way beast strength gets obtained. I know someone’s teaching me right when I get excited to do it. I always had in the back of my mind that there was more to lifting heavy weight than there was taught by the average trainer. Thanks Brian.

I've tried breathing at the top of a press (like you've mentioned in a few videos) and it actually feels way worse. Like I can't get as much air than at the bottom, because it seems to take more effort to hold than it does at the bottom for me. I've wondered if this may be just a personal difference, or a matter of form that needs to be addressed.

I love this video, I can’t wait to try this out. One thing I am wondering, since I also do a lot of grappling, do you ever find your weightlifting breathing patterns to accidentally make its way into grappling or striking. Meaning, are you holding your breath while executing throws or strikes, simply by mistake?

The information in this channel is incredible. I have drastically altered my training due to your influence. Thank you Kindly. Interesting that the Kung Fu Chi proponents encourage belly breathing in everyday life (not referring to holding the breath but everyday normal activities). Babies and toddlers if observed breath through their bellies I. E. Bellies expand and contract as they breath.

Fantastic video! One question about higher reps sets (for instance 10-12): I can usually do the first three reps with one breath (at most), but what do you recommend for the next reps? I was thinking of doing one rep / breath, because if try to do two or more (after the first three reps), then I feel like dying.

so i noticed you're taking short, powerful breaths instead of slow, long ones to fill up with air.. i think that'll work better for me as well ^^ only problem im still running into is keeping the air in my belly.. sometimes it feels like my head is going to explode and other times im close to shitting myself - well i guess it all comes down to practice x) anyways great vids brian :)

Hello Brian, Great video. Not sure if you will see this comment, but for some reason I feel better when I get air in my setup position rather then when I get air up top or with my hips up. Is there any reason behind this? Also how many months would it take to get really used to getting air up top/with my hips up? Thanks.

Hi Brian there is a question i have on my mind for some time now...Is it healthy to keep your breath for long time? When i keep my breath for 3 reps for example, i feel my heart beating. Are you sure you're feeling tightness in your DIAPHRAGM? Anatomically, that muscle basically sits right beneath your lungs and above your liver, more or less following your 10th rib, if that makes sense. Where are you experiencing tightness?
