I wish I had internet back in the day when I used to practice TKD, videos like this would have been a great help. Especially with practicing tuls.

Good morning Master Nardizzi, I must admit that you are a great teacher of Taekwondo. The way you have taught and explained each lesson make Taekwondo easy to follow and grasp by a student who is doing Taekwondo. Continue with your teaching because you are doing a great job. On your youtube you have put eight(8) Taekwondo Patterns. Indeed, I like the way you have illustrated those patterns and again you have made them easy for a student of Taekwondo to follow. Since there are twenty-four(24) patterns in Taekwondo I would like you to put the other sixteen(16) patterns on your youtube and clarify them in the way that you have done with the other eight patterns. I want to get more understanding in those as well.

Very clear sir. This 10 minute video + 15 minutes of practice, taught me more than a 45min lesson. The yellow feet showing foot movement help a lot. Well done 👍

It is the first performance of Do-San Tul I see, which is in accordance with Taekwondo Encyclopedia description. I saw so many black belts doing the unnecessary movement similar to parallel stance between movements 2 and 3, as well as 10 and 11. It seemed comic to me, and I wondered, why. You answered my latest big question about Taekwondo =)

Excellent advice on movement 13. Yet, once again we disagree on the exact numerical value of the angle. The direction of the stance is definitely not 45 degrees, but I would vote for 25 degrees, not 15. The reason for this is the soles drawing in page 255 of vol. VIII of the Ecyclopedia. Unlike page 254, the final position of the sole of the rear leg is directly to C. Since the sole of the rear leg is externally rotated 25 degrees, the direction of the stance has to be 25 (therefore not 15) degrees towards A.
@DonatoNardizzi5 жыл бұрын
I used to teach 25 degrees many years ago for the same reason you mention. I changed my opinion when I did some geometry on the stances and discovered that 25 degrees would not return you to the starting point if you maintain the dimensions of your walking stances consistent throughout the pattern (I don't believe it is always necessarily to be consistent as many patterns would not end up in the same spot if it did). I found that 15 degree brings you closer to the starting point. If walking stances had no width, then 25 degree would be just right. Although, I would much prefer 25 degrees because 15 degrees is bordering the limit of a side front angle. Also, I understand that doing precise geometry on units of measurement such as shoulder widths and foot widths may yield different results depending on the 'foot width' to 'Shoulder width' ratio. For most people 25 degrees would mean they would have to make their walking stances slightly longer on the 2nd half of the pattern, which I believe is ok, and I accept that 25 degrees is a reasonable angle for movement 13 in pattern Do-San.

Could you explain how to turn between movement 2-3 and 4-5 in choi yong? I understand it is similar to the turn in do San?
@DonatoNardizzi5 жыл бұрын
In Choi-Yong Tul the turns are similar to Do-San Tul. Only the turn between movement 2-3 requires a only very small step because it is Rear Foot Stance.

Thank you Sir, for yet another informative video. May I ask what the difference is between dwiro dora and spot turning? I have seen another Do-San video which uses the term dwiro dora in place of the spot turn. Many Thanks. Tae Kwon
@DonatoNardizzi4 жыл бұрын
Spot turning is a method of turning whereas, "Dwiro Dora" is the command meaning "Turn around". So the instructor gives the command "Dwiro Dora" and the student can tghen use spot turning to execute the action.
