The speed clips hang up on the eyes of the lures though and are a pain to open. I’ll just stick with the angler clips plus they have 6 or 7 different sizes.👍 Great video though Tony.

I use the BBK speed clip. The knot doesn't slide down the clip, which happens occasionally with the TA clip. I only use them when fishing bucktails and larger plugs from shore, but overall, I'd still rather tie a loop knot.

i literally snagged a frikkin baby manta ray a few weeks back. pole was bent 180 degrees for the 20 minutes it took to get the little 50 pound guy to shore and release safely. 50 pound braid attach to the tactical angler clip attached to 25 pound floro attached to a jig head. Whole time i struggled just to get him in it held ! was never a strong fast jerk so clip held but it held vs a lot of power pulling it! later that week i hooked something huge! striper or bluefish while jigging. cranked my tension as high as i could and he was still pulling line like it was off a spool! grabbed the reel to stop him from taking my whole spool worth of line and the floro snapped but clip didnt. wasnt on there when i pulled it in. these clips are worth it for speed swapping jigs for lures for sure.

I have experimented with both and definitely like the TA clips better. They are easier to swap the lures when your hands are wet and slippery or on a small boat/kayak with waves bouncing you around. I have also used both the clips and just a loop knot and have not found any difference in fish hitting it. If it's a finesse bait or super calm/clear waters I use just the loop knot but most of the time I just use the clips. Thanks for the video Tony.

Canoe man loop knot... quick to tie, less weight and proven knot stregnth

Like the thought and design of speed clips. But I'm still on the less is better train. I would possibly try it if I'm limited to just one pole.

Just so you know, you had the Norman Speed Clip set to Lbs/Oz... meaning the NSC broke at 26.95 pounds

Noob question. Everyone says don’t use clips, but aren’t you losing a few inches of leader with every lure change? I know you guys aren’t tying FG knots all day on the water? Help!

Use clips bro. Make a bunch of premade leaders. Swap out as needed.

You know I got a whole thing of the old clips that we used to wear but I don't do that no more I put the loop on there and I'm good why don't you learn how to tie the loop
