Hello. As a fellow disabled adult with CP and I uses crutches I know what it's like to be stared at by both kids and adults. I know I don't always like being helped in public because people don't know what to do and I get hurt or I don't want to be seen as less capable.

About being embarrassed- yes. I have a visual impairment and have to sit in the front to see but I’m too embarrassed to say anything. I also have a brace that I hate wearing because A: it’s uncomfortable and B: it looks weird although it has a cool pattern so I usually wear pants to hide it :/

I am handicap and I have poor balance. Back in 2001 I had to get my left knee scope done and so I'm bone on bone. My dr suggested that I get a handicap pass to save me those extra steps. My dad's uncle surprised me with a mobility 3 wheel scooter. We also bought a walker with the seat. So during the time mind you I was around 21yrs old and so I had that mind set of saying no I don't need these at all but my dad explained it to me saying that these are a tools for you to help you get around. After that I am really pleased to say that I am blessed that God gave me these to use around while I'm out about. Earlier this yr I had to get a electric wheelchair also to help get around more when I'm out and about because I have the beginning stage of osteopenia I also get looks as well but it doesn't bother me if they have a question I'm open to explain why I have these things. So don't worry about them looking just do what you are doing during that time. Hugs from AZ. Hope this helps.

Everything You say , feel or do is normal . Strange thing is Not to feel . " disabled" terminology in my opinion are people who don't feel. ; I think You know what I mean by that ❤ (s woman I think You would be wonderful mother. Also because Your Mom is true example of : " What every Mother should be"❤.❤❤

Thank you & RESPECT ❤ ( For some reason , I don't think of you as " disabled"... Forgive me if this doesn't sound okay but I'm honest and as mother and women, I simply HEAR and LISTEN ❤ YOUR MOTHER and FRIENDS MUST BE VERY PROUD OF YOU. . . Greetings from Serbia. P.S - Say " Hello 👋 " to Your Mom, I think of her as GREAT PARENT AND WONDERFUL PERSON❤
