I loved how Sasaki remarking that the pedestal Poseidon held himself on "seems lonely" to him, and THAT was the first time we see Poseidon have an emotional reaction to something happening. A HUMAN dared to judge HIM!

You know, it's kinda sad that Poseidon, in all of his physical might, lacked the humility of a warrior.

Sasaki vs Poseidon will always be special for its placement in the timeline, and how that pushed the series's vibes and themes forward. I think for that reason it will always be my favorite.

It’s been my fave since I read it and no round has yet dethroned it for me, as you said it’s placement is what makes it so amazing the catharsis from watching humanity snag their first win against the god of gods who’s under doing was that they were too godly is just peak cinema

I would only argue that Qin vs Hades serves as #1. Seeing both a god and human so alike and both were loved by their family and the viewers was battle it out was insane. I think was the closet time that a God and A human were on even ground

The image of Zeus secretly being angry at the other gods for changing their minds about humans is surprisingly on brand for Zeus considering Greek mythology is famous for their gods being arguably worse than mankind

Most of the gods don’t hate humanity. They are just ignorant and don’t realize that the humans and gods are THE SAME. Humans show that the gods hubris is immense.
@SephTheSin
@SephTheSin Жыл бұрын
Yeah a big part is just their egos, they simply don’t want to admit humanity are their equals, hence why when they lose in R3 Zeus just says nah we can win if we just try more or before R6 where Buddha asks Zeus why he hates humanity and Zeus says but he hates losing and that if the gods fight they win that’s just how it is
@picassojulien899

@@SephTheSin Yep. This is why it sucks to see characters like hades die. Didn’t have much ego and was honestly the best out of the greek god in terms of personality.

A philosophical banger, good work, its good to see that is a good part of the fandom that thinks about the meanings of the gods and humans instead of lust over them

Hey Seph, pls keep up with these Record of Ragnarok videos! I do love/ appreciate them, and you do such a good job explaining the themes of the fight! At first, I only understood a basic level of each fight but your videos on this series is insightful! Call me dramatic, but I get a bit emotional with how you explain everything as its so clear and also inspiring as well! I think most others who watched this show only watch the fights as they are, and don't look behind the symbolism for each fight and instead just focusing on matchups alone. Keep it up!

I find it funny how poseidon was considered feard and was called god of gods when he's not even in the top 20 most powerful gods in mythologies.

I hope after the end of this series, there will be a continuation. I already have an idea for tha story. The gods after Ragnarok would become so sad and bored that they, just because of feeling exited again, the would want a rematch with humanity.❤😊

Hey, your channel has grown a lot since I last visited, nice. Also if you’ve got the time since you are doing JJK reviews and all, I’d recommend checking out another Shonen Jump manga called Undead Unluck. I think that series unironically succeeds Medaka Box’s weird brand of humor better than even the current series Nisio is doing WSJ (Cipher Academy).

No Offense if I may ask but you know what at the end of the day you are not wrong but the humans themselves have to change as well if they want their world to survive, if they want to make a better world. Then they have to change as well
@SephTheSin
@SephTheSin Жыл бұрын
I completely agree that they should man but I just don’t think the story really cares about that aspect of things, besides Shiva and Aprodites comments in chapter 1 it’s never been brought up again, R4 would have been the perfect time to explore this but since it doesn’t I doubt we’ll see any big developments in regards to this

Apollo is flawed, but out of all of them, I feel like he is the most human apart from Hercules, they both understand struggle and what it is to be weak. Their reason may be different but they strive to be better and they love others and want to see them succeed. It takes humanity and humility to do that, to see value in someone else. Other Gods have grown on me and see the value of humanity and it's strengths but I think those two are the best examples. I'm reading the manga, I just finished Apollo's fight, obviously something dark is brewing beneath the surface and I wonder if in the end it will take both sides coming together to stand against it. Also, I wish you had mentioned Buddha, he saw the value of humanity from the start, it's why he switched sides and stood beside them when at the time things where looking darkest, he's been in humanities corner from the start in his own way.
