There’s a way to get this kinda shading in blender and that’s by making everything a emission modifier set to 1. It doesn’t glow and doesn’t react to light because it is the light!

This is the first youtube animation I've seen that's made me go "is that a 3d model? Yeah that's a 3d model!" Great work. Pretty sure the face is animated separately from the model, and if it is, that's a great way of making it more convincing, and if not then that just shows how good your model is.

This tubby, lumpy version of Mario has so much a personality of his own. I wonder if Shigeru Miyamoto watched or liked the Super Show? I do know executives at Namco saw the Hanna-Barbera Pac-Man cartoon and liked seeing Pac-Man come to life so much they used it as the template for Pac-Land. This is such a great recreation/update of the Super Show's style. I especially liked the stumble at the end.
