Mookie Betts got traded away. The whole reason Bloom signed Story for 140m is that he had no intention of paying to keep Bogaerts. The sad part is that Story is a huge downgrade and his salary will be an albatross for the next 5 years!!

@@tom7471 TB has been a major league farm club since 2008. The Rays have been consistent winners with nobodies making 🥜 while the Sox either generally win the World Series or finish last.

It's time for John Henry to sell the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox used to be a point of focus for him--they have now become just another business asset in a portfolio of multiple sports and entertainment assets, which is bad news for Red Sox fans. (When was the last time he watched a game at Fenway Park?) Hiring Chaim Bloom was a clear reflection of a change in priorities from winning, to saving money. Not signing Betts over a relatively small amount of consideration, was the first application of that philosophy. Lowballing essential players is the continuation of it, and as these key players' contracts expire, there will almost certainly be a mass exodus of the remaining talent from the Red Sox, turning them from a destination of talent which they used to be, to a place where talented players won't waste their time even consider signing. The rarity of sell-outs and plunging NESN ratings prove what we all obviously know--this does not play well in Boston. John Henry has demonstrated himself to no longer be a good steward of this historic organization; he should sell it to someone whose interest in it goes beyond a balance sheet and an income statement.

Wrong. He made this terrible roster. The only players performing are players that were already on the roster. Bloom failed at the Mooki Benetendi and Hunter trades. Built a terrible outfield has a terrible 1st base and pitching staff thats ALL on Chaim. Did you see the all star game? All guys Bloom doesn't want Vazquez is having a great year he's not a Bloom guy. 80% of Blooms moves have failed and for a guy all about prospects he traded for guys like Schwarber and Robles and wasted those prospects.

I fear that it will take several years until the Red Sox can win another championship with the direction that things are going. This isn't something that Boston fans have been used to... We're used to winning. We've won 4 rings since 2004 and most other teams in MLB cannot say the same.

Before 2004, people were still coming to Fenway every year despite the fact that it was years and years of disappointment. Boston fans are some of the most loyal in sports ever. No matter what happens, fans will never give up (unless you're just a bandwagon fan who wasn't loyal to begin with) Fenway Park will always be filled with fans.

The issue has been our pitching staff for the past 5years prior to Dave Dombroski taking over even before him, Ben Cherington the Red Sox has always taken risk to better thier bullpen they went after Andrew Bailey which didn't work out. The Red Sox over the years has had a Shakey rotation and bull pen, the Red Sox even took the risk when they traded for Joel Harahan from the pirate's, this year Red Sox isn't the same team we saw last year major changes need to happen if Bloom Cham expect to, stick around Boston he needs a bounce back year to redeem his image, this again isn't the same team we saw last year that went the ALCS against Houston.

The Sox won a World Series in 2018 and the pandemic played a role in roster construction as well. If you want to identify what’s wrong with this team look no further than the oft injured Chris Sale who was signed to be the horse and frankly hasn’t lived up to the terms of his deal because of injuries since 2017…offensively the team is #2 in the AL in runs scored….while letting Schwarber go definitely hurt, adding story more than made up for Renfro…in the end this off season or at the deadline the Sox need to add a couple of legit arm to the front of the rotation and a couple of. Well, this is speculation, if Mookie took the 300, then Sale and Xander aren't here. Mookie wanted more than 360, there are only a few teams that can afford it. The Sox have always low balled on home talent and over paid on outside talent, not just the Bloom era. A lot of spoiled fans. I remember the years there were no playoffs, there were no farm system, and no money spent.
