Awesome tones. Recently picked up a Discrete 8 and it's been a lot of fun experimenting with all of the tones and plugins available. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed with Antelope so far!

Hi John...in your chain of effects in your example at 4:58 or so, you must be using a gate of some kind...when you do breaks or stop playing it goes dead quiet, so I'm guessing there is a noise gate in there...where is that at in the Antelope unit? Thanks in advance, and thanks for doing this video...hope you and yours are well!...editing in, OK, now am at 11:15ish where you said "Let's put the gate on...". so I'm seeing what you are doing...thanks!

Awesome video John. This unit is amazing, been using one all year, albeit the older version. It runs my whole studio set up and is actually an awesome unit to use on the road for mixing and mastering as well, seeing the converters are quite nice and super high quality. It's enabled me to be working constantly whilst away from the studio. Awesome content BTW.

Antelope makes some of the best shit EVER. I compared the internal clock on a Yamaha PM5D to an antelope isochrone and it was mind blowing even though I was 200 feet away from the PA. Real deal shit here. And before anyone tries to tell me how using an external clock on a live console is pointless everyone at front of house heard it as well, even the booking agent said the antelope sounded better in a blind test lmao.

Great video, and I'd love to have a Zen for myself. One tip; I think you may have your VO gate threshold set too high, as there is noticeable ducking at the beginnings of some of your words. If you can't lower the threshold, you could muck about with the gate settings; quicker attack, longer release, etc.

Hi John, How did you get it all connected up and running? I bought one a few months ago and still cannot get it up and running using Thunderbolt 3 into my MacBook Pro (M1 Max). It's been a bloody nightmare and I'm just about to throw in the towel and right it off as a bad purchase. I would be willing to pay someone with the knowledge, such as yourself, to get it up and running in my system.

curious what those guitar tones would sound like in a full mix vs a real mic'd amp/cab

Woah there, is that an Axe Fx I spy in the rack? Have your thoughts on Fractal changed much after checking it out?

I have a PC with only USB 3.0 ports. I tried using a startech Thunderbolt 3 Dock with USB-c Laptop Compatibility to go from TB3 out from the ZenTour SC into the dock then out from the USB 3.0 port on the dock into the USB 3.0 port into the PC. No luck. The studio set up in Cubase Pro 10.5 was unable to switch asio drivers to the ZenTour even though it showed up in the drop down menu as a choice. Is this just impossible to do? If so, I'm going to return the equipment to Amazon. I'll just continue to use my Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface. Thanks for your input. Love the channel. First time visitor.

Your video intro always reminds me of older sitcoms intros with the cutaways. Lol.

Hey John. Are reamp outs powerful enough to drive the amps in? I've seen some compliants that you need to break the volume up to the highest levels and even then they say reamp outs don't sound that powerful and similar to a conventional recording with guitar connected directly to the amp. Did you try those?

Hello friend I have a question, look I have a laptop and my interface is the antelope zen tour, what I would like to do since I do not have external hardware such as compressors, equalizers etc is send the signal through the spdif output and forward to the same interface to via the xlr input since the interface has rear inputs for spdif cable if I buy spdif or DB25 cable on the routed antelope zen tour, it's all I want to do to feed the signal back to feed into the circuits of the same interface and to be able to record that signal already modified to the fl studio, because I would like to know if fl the studio would allow me to do it in the first place? It is as if I tried to use the interface to pass the sounds I want or the final master of my songs through the interface and record that modified signal in my daw, if you could make a video on this topic and how to use it in the channels of daw mixer the interface as an insert to use its effects and not vst plugins in the daw, I don't know if you understand me but I would appreciate it a lot, I have been racking my head for 2 weeks with the issue of the antelope panel and routing

Dude, you can do this with AFX2DAW

@@JohnBrownemonuments If you could make a video of how to route those audio signals that one wants to pass through the spdif of the antelope to route it to exit and enter through, right there the modified signal through the XLR inputs of the antelope since the cable I have is DB25 to 2ch xlr, if you could make a routing video of everything that has to do with spdif connection of antelope interfaces on the panel
