I joined the membership. I'm little confused. What does it do? I'm not up to date with this it's my first time joining a membership on u-tube. Im Over a half century years old😅😅😅 so I'm not quit up to date. Will you please explain shortly what happens with membership? I feel silly but had to ask. Thank you, I love rocks and your video's are so much fun. I'm now subscribed to so many channel's, I think I have rock fever. 🤒.

@@karlahall9058 haha same. I'm over half a century old and I couldn't even figure out how to join?? 😅 I kept going around in circles and couldn't figure out how to complete the process?? I got frustrated and gave up. But yeah this has been the most wholesome and fun rock cutting and lapidary account I've come across. I'm cane across it a couple weeks ago and pretty sure I marathoned all his videos. 🤦♀️🤣 But yeah, I'd like to figure out how to join and what exactly it provides?

3:10 This one (the 3rd one) that you cut into (the weird one) is a fossil of a crab. Had you hit it slightly with a hammer (soft blow) on the seam line (the line in the rock where there's a lot of divits) you would op3n the rock to find a crab fossil! 0:02 In this first shot of the crab the rock on the lower left of screen. The top portions of the crabs pincher arm can be seen. That's why the saw had a 'hiccup' when it was going through the rock in a rock!

Back in 1987 I was making a pot of soup, lol sounds kind of weird but I reached into a bag of potatoes (from Idaho) and pulled out a large stone which looked just like a potato. As a conversation piece I've kept this rock all through the years and it still sets on the back of my stove. It is a geode with crystals poking out of it I'm now at the point of wanting to see what is inside. Rocks are so fascinating.

The ones that have the clear/translucent husk or layer on the outside they tend to fracture off easily especially when tumbled. My best guess is that the difference in the crystal structure of that later is different and not bonded very well.

I'm VERY new to collecting and liking rocks. I have so many questions. Easiest way to polish. I've got all types of sand paper. I've got a tumbler coming. I have a dremel. i need to buy a diamond cutting blade. How did you know these were agates? What rocks to keep? I trued polishing last year for the first time. Didnt go very well. So i just put a coat of resin on some of them. How do you figure out what type of rock you picked up?
