We did something similar in January by a firm who does Prevost and higher end coaches. Came onsite and did it in the resort we were at. Cost us about $4500 and comes with a 3 year warranty from the company and 20 years from the manufacturer. Ours was around $4500. Survived a huge storm in Florida with no issues.

Just had that done to our 05 Winnebago Journey, they also replaced the plywood skin and needed to fabricate a new aluminum radius for the full length of the coach. Not cheap but a much better choice than replacing the factory roof with a new roof of the same type. So far we are very happy! The shop in AZ was outstanding to work with, they were able to get started right away and finished when they said they would. I discussed with them adding solar panels at a later date, they can add mounting studs at a later date but also said it was a relatively expensive task. The tech said the more cost effective route was to glue flexible solar panels directly to the roof and run the wires through the fridge vent...probably the route I'll take if I do add solar. Congrats on your new roof! Of all the things that can and will go wrong in your RV, it's a nice feeling to move the roof to the bottom of that list.

They remove the AC(s) and spray to the edge. Then use new AC gaskets which are covered under their no leak warranty. Skylights can be sprayed over if you don't want the sunlight coming in or will tape it off and spray up a bit higher than the traditional sealant level. For the antennas and other mounted items, there are a number of options including mounting bolts, you see this @3:12, then the roof mounted item is placed on top of the membrane.

These older Hi Los were probably the pull campers made. We never had a problem with the hi Lo Up and Down mechanism. leaks are bad thanks for the video. this is good to know. lI wonder what the cost was.

Check with each location. Earlier this year it was ~$160-170 a liner foot. One of the locations in LA mentioned they are now at $185/liner foot due to material cost increases. This doesn't include any decking repair costs, extra costs if they have to tear off the original roof, installing other items, etc.

They did put on all new vents as part of the job so nothing should need replacement for many years unless something is damaged.

@@86bigred One of the aspects of our roof is the thickness and toughness. Since 2005, we have had one roof punctured by a tree limb. We have never had a bird peck the roof or through it. We have seen and had some come through our shops that have had birds damage them, those have been the common rolled on, liquid rubber type roofs. We have a video on our website to show the thickness and toughness of the material. Since 2005 and we have never been contacted by a customer to have the roof fixed due to damage from any animal. We also encase the plastic parts so that all you ever have to replace is the lid. We spent several years researching and going through all the possible scenarios and designing our product and application to address these situations. If you ever have one of our roofs come through and have bird damage, please let us know. Since we use chisels, grinders and cut off wheels when we do need to remove a part, I'd like to research how a bird took off a part as you claim. Send an email to sales@rvroof.com if you think it is one our roofs so we can research this and make sure there isn't a problem like you describe.

So, what happens when you have to replace one of your roof components? For instance a refrigerator vent or a roof vent that takes a hit from a tree branch or hail damage. You've sealed over the fasteners that hold that component down. That roof may last forever but roof components do not. Roof maintenance does not go away. You're fooling yourself if you think this is a good idea. If this is so great, why don't RV manufacturers do this on new RV's?
@GratefulGlamper
@GratefulGlamper 2 жыл бұрын
They replace all the vent covers as part of the install. If a new component is needed, you can either 1) take to them and they will install and respray or 2) cut away the sprayed over parts to install yourself, use dicor to seal temporarily and then return to them for a new spray on seal around those components. The fridge vent cover that was on our rig was the original one - they replaced with new (the original one was almost 20 years old).
@TC-nn7xk
@TC-nn7xk 2 жыл бұрын
This is not a good idea, it's a great idea! An owner is reducing the potential failure points from hundreds of seams and screw holes under aging sealants to a few vents, many of which are replaceable without cutting into the membrane. When a component does fail, many years in most cases, they only charge to spray in the new item. The industry doesn't do this or other quality improvements because the customers demand lowest prices and the industry races to the bottom, leaving us with shoddy products that don't last. They only care if the roof doesn't leak the first year, after that, a wrecked RV is just another new RV sale for them!

the "Lifetime" warranty is for the life of the RV. Which is far better than the factory option. Look at the fine print of TPO roof membranes, inspection regime requirements, and loopholes. FlexArmor does have some exclusions, but mostly it is around modifying the roof and not getting it resealed with in one year.
