എന്റെ ഒരു അനുഭവം പറയട്ടെ.. ഞാൻ ചെറുപ്പം മുതലേ ഒരു നെഗറ്റീവ് ചിന്താഗതികാരനായിരുന്നു. എന്ത് ചെയ്താലും തെറ്റി പോവുമോ ആളുകൾ കളിയാക്കുമോ എന്നായിരുന്നു എന്റെ പേടി. പക്ഷെ ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ പേടിച്ചു ചെയ്ത പല കാര്യങ്ങളും ആളുകൾ അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. പക്ഷെ എന്റെ മനസ് എപ്പോളും എന്നോട് പറയും ഇത് ശെരിയാവില്ല എന്ന്. അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ജീവിതം മുഴുവൻ നെഗറ്റീവ് ആയി. എന്റെ കഴിവുകൾ എല്ലാം കുറഞ്ഞു. നന്നായി പഠിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഞാൻ പിന്നോട്ട് പോയി. അങ്ങനെ കുറച്ചു നാളുകൾക്കു ശേഷം ഞാൻ മനസിലാക്കി എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ നെഗറ്റീവ് മാത്രമേയുള്ളു, അതെല്ലാം എന്റെ ചെറു പ്രായത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നേരിട്ട പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുടെ ഫലമാണെന്ന്. പക്ഷെ അപ്പോളും മനസ്സിൽ കത്തി നിൽക്കുന്ന ചില ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നല്ലൊരു എഴുത്തുകാരനാവണം ഒത്തിരി യാത്ര ചെയ്യണം. അച്ഛനേം അമ്മേനേം നന്നായി നോക്കണം അങ്ങനെ ഒരുപാട്. ഈ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്ക് മുന്നിൽ ഞാൻ തോറ്റുകൊടുക്കാൻ തയ്യാറായില്ല. എന്നാലും മനസിലേക്ക് വരുന്നത് മുഴുവൻ നെഗറ്റീവ്. അവസാനം ഞാൻ പല കാര്യങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ എന്നോട് തന്നെ പറയും എനിക്ക് ഇത് പറ്റും. വെറുതെ പേപ്പറിൽ എഴുതും I can എന്ന്. എന്നെ തന്നെ മോട്ടിവേറ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ റൂമിൽ പോസിറ്റീവ് വാക്കുകൾ എഴുതി ഒട്ടിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ മലയാള മനോരമ യുവ എഴുത്തുകാർക്കായി ഒരു കഥ മത്സരം നടത്തുന്നത്. മനസ്സിൽ കിടന്ന ഒരു കഥയെ പൊടിതട്ടിയെടുത്ത് അങ്ങ് അയച്ചു കൊടുത്തു. ചില മാസങ്ങൾക്കു ശേഷം എനിക്കൊരു കാൾ വന്നു, കേരളത്തിൽനിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത 30 പേരിൽ ഒരാൾ ഞാനായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ക്യാമ്പിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. പല പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരെയും പരിചയപെട്ടു. ഇതാണ് എന്റെ തുടക്കം... ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നെഗറ്റീവ് ചിന്തിക്കാറില്ല. എന്തും എന്നെകൊണ്ട് സാധിക്കും എന്ന് മനസിനെ പറഞ്ഞത് അങ്ങ് വിശ്വസിപ്പിക്കും. ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ മറ്റൊരു ലക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ പുറകെയാണ്. അത് നേടുമെന്ന ഉറച്ച വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്. ശെരിക്കും ഞാൻ ഒരു ഒറ്റപെട്ട വ്യക്തിയാണ്. പക്ഷെ ആ ഒറ്റപെടലുകളാണ് എന്നെ ഇത്രയും ധൈര്യമുള്ളവനാക്കിയത്.
