I got a lot out of this video and I want to get the digital printouts of today and maybe even you up and take some online lessons from your course. I learned today’s lesson pretty quick. I’m 60 and take lessons from different local teachers and I love to keep challenging my brain and getting better. Well done video and watching another one now plus subscribed. 🙏👍🏻

Hi Andrew, I really do like this exercise and I'm slowly getting fluent with the scale-runs. Could you spell out a chord-progression to accompany the exercise with a DIY jamtrack?

Thanks for this knowledge. Your last 2 exercise videos helped me developing riffs in minor keys of Aminor and Dminor helping me to do solos in a better way. This will help more definitely.

The pattern shown on the neck is actually pattern #3 of the diatonic G scale. (which contains pattern #3 of the pentatonic) The second pattern is pattern #1. Looks like you skipped over pattern #4 which is "between" these two patterns. Yes, being able to move freely between the patterns is very helpful. Proper finger position of the left hand and synchronization between right and left and striving to play "clean" while allowing the speed picking to progress at it own pace are also helpful considerations. I'm trying to be patient in my practice and allow my self to develop. I am making progress on a good foundation. Someday I hope to be able to "amaze my friends"! :)

Nice one! thanks for another great stuff! lot of todo :D One question : You recommended to use middle finger for the whole step intervals instead of the ring finger. Could you give more input about that please. Is it a bad practice to use a ring finger to the whole step? What are downsides of that? And what are the upsides of using middle finger instead of the ring one?

The middle (3rd) and annular (4th) fingers share the same tendon, with the small (5th) finger riding over the annular fingers tendon. This causes stress when trying to spread the gap between the annular and your 5th finger. Therefore, to stretch easier and farther across a double whole-step on guitar, use the middle to 5th finger, (not the annular [4th] and the 5th). Hope this helps you some.

@@boblawblaws604 thanks for answer. Hmm that is strange cause in my case is different. For me is a way easier to perform the exercise with 4th and 5th fingers! Some how between middle finger and 4th finger I feel the direct connection and somehow is hard to perform it aligned the recommendations. So which way I should go ? With middle finger and 5th or with 4th and 5th ? Thanks !

@@dfurmans Middle finger for 3 note per string patterns. It will get easier the more you do it. I used to use my 4th and 5th fingers and after switching and adapting to using the middle finger, my speed has increased immensely.

It's kinda like the Ionian scale pattern. Sounds good.

King of a cool sounding pattern, but I'm not sure what a new exercise pattern has to do with perfect picking and fretting "guaranteed" .

finger stretching erxtremes....makes oither things easier...also works on hand sync like a spiderwalk does

@@TimLippert Agreed, I was referencing the Title. I was expecting something a little less generic, or more innovative. I just wasn't expecting a basic run or sequence, or what have you. Just being a dick, I guess.😁
