No lie @Malka, I'm still recovering from hair breakage earlier this year taking my hair down from box braids. I was angry and so stressed that I broke inches off because the product buildup matted my hair. I figured out a strategy recently which for me, was first using alot of oil to give my hair enough slick to get the build up out with finger detangling. Then moisturize with water and conditioner before washing my hair. My hair that broke has grown back finger length already. So I'm very happy about that.

Funny story: When I was 9, I desired the complexion of a darker skin class mate. I lived in an area with alot of swimming pools and white people, so my 9-year-old brain thought it had the answer. I grabbed a container of butter and headed outside to make all my dreams come true. As a light brown 🤎 skin little girl all ended up with was red peeling skin with burns ( 1 shade darker the next day). Who knows how damaged my skin would have been if my mother wouldn't have found me all lathered up like a Butterball on Thanksgiving. It's so sad how society makes so many dislike that complexion when we are born with a deep innate desire to get back to that complexion.

You are very right @Barber. We all have different story to tell. Nothing ever worked on my hair. I have such a hair type that I am not wishing any other person to have. Should I call my hair type rebellious? No! Instead I will call it beautiful because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. For almost 4 years I have been natural. Struggling dissappointedly to nurture my hair. I left KZbin and started Google research. At the end to God's glory I came across what is called Dosha. I came across also WATER ONLY METHOD. These two words changed my hair. Now I don't shampoo at all. Only use warm water to wash my hair. I use sesame oil for my scalp fenugreek to moisturise my hair and that's all. No shampoo, cream, butter, conditioner not at all and my hair growing out great and thicker. Knowing my Dosha has brought a great change to my hair.

I literally stopped doing box braids because I was tired of taking out my braids and also practically ripping out hair. With each braid there was a chunk of hair that was ripping out. So now I'm just doing corn rows on my hair which makes it super easy to access for moisturizing and oiling. I dont ever wear the corn rows out, so I can access my scalp without worrying about messing up anything. I literally have been doing a very simple moisture treatment using LOC. I use either aussie moist leave in or water, then olive and castor oil. For the cream, I dont like putting creams on my hair bc it always makes it dry. Plus i rarely need to style anyway. And then i keep adding water to it throughout the day. I will def try this method!
@1adifferentbreed3 жыл бұрын
You’re hair has to shed 100 hairs a day. When you have in box braids it isn’t allowing your hair to shed. The same thing can happen with cornrows.

She’s right. My hairgrowth was stunted because I couldn’t retain length due to my ends not having moisture. Now, it’s got some length because I am focused on moisture especially for my ends and roots. But, I usually keep my hair twisted and pinned up after I wash, condition, comb, moisturize. Wearing wigs and scarves have done wonders for my dry hair/ends. It’s thickened and I just leave it be, and only take down to moisturize. I can’t wait until my joint is to my waist.

Well on average you lose 15-100 hair strands a day so as long as you think it's in that range you should be good and shouldn't worry about it. It's natural. But if your hair is falling constantly then it can be your products, diet, or could be lack of protein in your hair or body .

Thanks Eugenia. Couple of questions: 1) How do you moisturise your hair whilst they are in protective style? I'm asking as 6weeks also works for me in terms of additional length, but I notice my hair are in poor state (breakage). 2) When you go 6 weeks protective styling, do you wash/deep condition? I'm asking as you recommended deep conditioning at least once a month, but it sounds like you also suggest 6weeks protective styling without washing hair. 3) How do you dry your hair after washing in twists? Do your hair dry in twists? If so do they tangle? 4) Do you re detangle your hair after shampooing? 5) In this video, you moisturise your hair after shampooing. Aren't we meant to you apply a conditioner or deep conditioner after shampooing? 6) Do you ever co wash? If so, how does it fit in the routine you presented above? 7) In this video, which shampoo do you use? Sorry if you mentioned but didn't capture. Thanks for sharing your insights!!

Hey sis! Can you make a video on how you style your hair for protection, low manipulation and how you usually wear out your hair after wash + how you take care of it at night?
@wendymacy50843 жыл бұрын
This has helped me so much. Before I'd keep like my protective style in for 3 months and I would get a lot of growth but I'd lose it all during the taking down process because I would literally rip it out. But now my hair has literally grown from shoulder length to waist length
@jamaican.goddess19723 жыл бұрын
Your hair grew that much from her products?
@wendymacy50843 жыл бұрын
@@jamaican.goddess1972 Not her products but just the way she handles her hair and all especially during the take down process. I was always rough with my hair and it barely grew because of the constant self imposed breakage on top of the normal hair shedding that happens. But I hope you don’t think it happened in a short span like there’s no magic to it that will give you results in a week.
@Kimberly_17383 жыл бұрын
@@wendymacy5084 Do you still leave your protective style in for 3 months? Or less? What is the only thing you changed your takedown process?
@wendymacy50843 жыл бұрын
@@Kimberly_1738 I do leave some certain styles in for the 3 months like my previous protective style I had it in for three months but even when they are in I make an effort to keep the hair well moisturised and taken care of while in there. Well yes that was the key thing that would always always set me back in terms of growth, just how I handled my hair.

Yes so true! For me I bleach my hair and roots so to determine if my hair is shedding or just breaking I both observe the length of the fallen hairs and I check a couple of the longer strands for the hair follicle on the end. I know if a follicle is attached it’s shedding rather then breaking at my line of demarcation. Thank you for the tips :)

This girl is so beautiful, hair skin is like beautiful coffee yet like chocolate and her hair is gorgeous. Without makeup she looks this great wow. That's why I advocate for dark skinned women to appreciate how beautiful they are without thinking of lightening their skin. I love her to death. Love from Nigeria ❤️🖤🖤🖤

Wow! Your hair is SO long, and probably the tightest curl pattern too. It's insane how much length you have when you pull it straight vs what you don't see due to shrinkage. That is the longest I have ever seen, naturally, with this hair type. Gorgeous hair! If you ever decide to cut it you gotta donate to locks of love! Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Head wraps after my befriend until my hair grows back close to where I cut it (low back). If you’re thinking about purchasing her products hurry up and do it. You won’t be dissatisfied.

I can only go about 4 weeks max or my hair starts to lock at the roots. Also I learned that the detangling process was my problem because I was rushing and being very rough which was tearing my hair out. Once I started being gentle and taking my time, I lost a lot less hair and saw more length retention.
