In WW1 my great grandmother was worried about her family and they put jars of food inside the walls of the house.60 years later my grandmother and Uncle took the peaches out of the wall and ate a jar. Yes, crazy but they did not get sick, probably like forever alcohol peaches!

I was taught by my mother to always do corn in a pressure canner or freeze it, I was also taught to make sure the water was at least an inch over the jar lids.

That's what most say to do, so curious that the huge jars had water only up to half. Maybe because the lids are hot when she puts them on helps seal them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. I heard this canning method she is using is not safe....at all. Same with oven canning, not safe. The pre-used lids aren't even popping down and sealing? Hmm? Any thoughts?

@@blessedrthosesermount99 you have to pressure can corn, or hot water bath it for a couple of hours or it will go flat sour. NO MATTER what you can water has to be over the lids by an inch minimum. You can use lids a second time, however there can be no cuts in the rubber, I use them but I'm careful. I'm 68 was taught to can and preserve food by my mother. In all the years Mom canned and now me, I can only remember a couple of things that didn't seal or went bad. Mom made it to 93 eating home canned food.
