I watched this video back in July. In August, I made a few jars. Today, mid-December, we opened our 1st jar and enjoyed them along with steak and potatoes. I will definitely make a half dozen jars of them again next year. They aren't as colorful and crisp as fresh, but as a midwinter marinated tomato salad... delicious! I stored them on a shelf in the basement.

Those are not properly preserved. pouring boiling water over them is not enough to kill all the bacteria. DONT DO THIS.

@@Gansent1 Thats great as long as you don't get botulism for under processed tomatoes. Other than that. Killing botulism spores requires at least a 10 minute boil or cooking in a pressure cooker to 250f. Follow this recipe at your own risk. 15% of those who get botulism die.

This is the first I've seen one also, it's just steam sanitizing, why not make your own😉. I'm getting a small electric vegetable steamer with a plastic lid. Cut a hole in the lid to the size of the jar's, and maybe a tiny hole to vent too much steam, Those veggie steamers can get really hot. If it doesn't work, just need to replace the lid😁

Yo pongo todo en el frasco y lo llevo a baño María 15 min. Lo dejo enfriar dentro del agua. En cambio con este metodo se puede asegurar que esté bien tapado y no pse pierda nada.

Have used this and a dozen other methods for tomato preservation over the years About 5 years ago we experimented with dehydrating tomatoes. Now it's the only preservation method we use. So simple and easy and the flavor for sauce, soups, and even salads is far superior to any other method.

Надо писать сколько чего кладётся не на банку,а на рассол: 1,5 л .банка- это 0.750 л.рассола,на 2 банки - 1.5 л.Значит на 1.5 л.жидкости кладём- 4 ч.л.соли и 5 ст л.сахара и заливаем 3 литровых банки или 1 трёхлитровую или 6 поллитровых банок,а уксус получается: 0,50 мл.на 1.5 л .рассола.Вкусный рассол и очень вкусные целиковые помидоры получаюся с таким рассолом: на 1.5 л.воды кладём 2 ст.л.( чуть с верхом)соли + 4 ст.л.сахара( без верха) и + 1 ч.л.уксуса эссенции 70% во время кипения добавляем в рассол- происходит диффузия( может часть рассола выплеснуться из кастрюли( берите глубокую),этим рассолом заливаем помидоры и ставим на стерлизацию на 5-7-10 мин.после закипания: это делается для того,т.к целиковые помидоры могут быть толстокожими и продолжать спеть в банке без сильного прогрева и взрываться,а стерлизация останавливает этот процесс,для тонкокожих достаточно 5 мин.стерлизации после закипания воды в кастрюле( на дно кастрюли надо класть материю,чтоб банка или банки не лопнули от нижнего жара...

Hola saludo desde Argentina y ví paso a paso el video y aqui en diciembre se puede hacer eso porq el ph es 7 del tomate y asegura que no se va a contaminar por el agregado de especias y ajo. Otra cosa que note es que la sal gruesa la agrego al rellenar al tope los frascos para evitar entrada o proliferación de microbacterias

this looks like another good use for all those tomatoes I cant find a use for when my plants are over producing! I normally make sauce and chutney, but having them as a pickle is something i never considered. Do you eat them just as a salad? or like a normal pickle; as a meal side dish - or do you have other ways of prepearing and serving them? Das ist unsin. Ich mache maine tomaten in voller mit knobloch,aber keine zwibel. Zwibel bringen das Glas mit Tomaten zum werderben. Mache schon 50Jahren in gleser für den winter. Komme von Kasachstan. Von selbstversorgen für den winter 9 Monaten,und eine 8 köpfig familie. Mache feler in schreiben, nicht zur schule gehen konnte.

Ich finde es aber sehr schlimm, ein liebe- und mühevoll präsentiertes Rezept mit "das ist Unsinn..." zu kommentieren. Wenn Du es anders kennst und machst, o.k., aber bist Du die oberste Instanz beim Einkochen? Zwiebeln können such nach meiner jahrelangen Erfahrung gut mit eingefüllt werden. Wenn Gläser verderben, liegt es meist an mangelnder Hygiene.

Vi sembra regolare che non venga spiegato quanto tempo possono andare avanti? Non specifica di e vanno conservati, non mostra come sono diventati dopo il tempo di conservazione. Non ha spiegato nulla!!! Che dice che si conservano bene? Sono sicura che dopo pochi giorni i pomodori siano da buttare nella spazzatura perché È IMPOSSIBILE CONSERVARE QUALSIASI ALIMENTO CON L'ACQUA!!!!!!!!

They have plastic mason jar lids at most stores, just drill 1/4" holes in one of those and you're good to go.
