How long do these exercises until the anger goes away? I've done this with my therapist but the anger comes back. I feel good about it, but it does come back, like I'm looking for fights with people literally sometimes. But all my life I've been timid type, sweet, never speak up, just been exploited. Does it ever go away, this anger?

Thanks for sharing. What you are mentioning is very common, the back and forth swing from timidity to then exploding in anger/rage. I'd say keep doing the exercises as often as you need them because this way, it is a controlled way of feeling and releasing the anger. Over time, you will be more aware of the tensions and they will come back less often and with less force. Also, this sounds crazy, but don't hate the anger or try to force it away. I remember my therapist said this to me and it sounded so lame lol but I think he was right. It's most important to just give yourself the time and space to feel it fully. That in itself is healing.
