Do This To IMPROVE Your Cornering Skills On A Motorcycle

So recently I have watched a ton of videos where I have seen a lot of bikers making this mistake while cornering on their motorcycles.
Here is what I have learnt and I how I apply this simple technique to enjoy these curvy back roads.

Some great advice for new riders but in addition you could have included the perils of target fixation when entering a corner and the undesirable compromising of safety when positioning for a left hand bend, as you never know what’s coming around the corner. Excellent video and important tips for safer riding. May I add to always be mentally alert but super relaxed with your arms and hands on the grips. On bends, focus ahead on the "vanishing point", then you will never tense up, panic brake, stand the bike up and quickly experience the crash site. You are so spot on about lean angle tyre grip and lane positioning. As a seventy eight year old kid with an intimate knowledge of tarmac viewed in painful contact with my face as a teenager, I am hopefully a safer rider. Thank you for posting this.

Counter steer, looking into the corner (where you are looking the bike tends to go), body position, speed, bike position! As a learner a myself my 125 (which is agile) really helped. By your mods1 and 2 you should have any issues sorted out by the instructor. (They will teach you counter steer and some other tricks. I never knew you can change gear without the clutch)

Same here in New Zealand but the training is not done by police (I think it was done by cops way before my time). It’s done by some government authorised trainers now.

Almost right. When in a right hand corner stay in lane 1 all the way around if safe ie no gravel or pot holes. When turning a left hand corner stay in lane 3 if safe ie on coming lorries etc. Visibility is at its max and lane 2 is usually plastered in engine oil and mud so extremely slippery especially if it has been raining. Look for the rainbows. No need to apex unless practicing for the moto gp lol.
