Holy moly, what a big bundle of plants! I recently had to do a mini version of this...I had thought one of my berried females released her eggs early, but when I was doing a water change that's when I saw the super mini fry! And then I had to do a very thorough process to ensure I hadn't lost any fry when I removed some floating plants/moss from the tank. I gotta get myself a fine mesh net like that for sure! Thank you so much for spreading your shrimply knowledge. You're my fave shrimp channel! Learned so much from you!

Genius! I will definitely be using this method in the future as I am pretty sure all of my tanks have shrimp in them, even the 152 gallon community!

Great advice! I've got a small tank for my three apple snails and one growing pink rambsorn. I've had a couple of bladder snails too ,free with a plant:) I do something similar when I wash out my sponge film. I did this about 4 hours ago. Washed the filter in clear tank safe water..i just leave the cleaning water in the bucket and within a few minutes the baby snails start climbing the bucket..

they always say get moss for your shrimplets but they forget to mention the time you spend trying to catch the stow-aways when you trim haha

Ahhh... the shrimplet hunt. It always makes me so nervous! I take entirely too much time analyzing my buckets! Have you ever dealt with scutariella japonica, Mark? Would you be willing to make a video on that topic?

How do you vacuum the substrate for a neocaridina tank? How often? I found a lot of waste from botanicals when I cleaned my sand.
@strider5119 Жыл бұрын
I dunno about him, but I don't really bother vacuuming my shrimp tanks. If they get dirty for some reason, I increase filtration for a couple of days. You could get a small internal filter and put a stocking over the filter so it doesnt pull shrimp in. It should stick most of the debris to it and make it a lot easier to deal with

thank you do you recommend more than one tank? I have a pet tank and I have one set up perfectly for shrimp with snails already... but havent ordered the shrimp as I am scared haha
