Clear concise, to the point, so many truths that you said, I try to do them, and am still trying, after a lifetime of early release it's hard but, working at it, thanks for a great video! :)

Been working on this recently. Using a tip of being a shot putter taking weight back into right heel then throwing the putt by pushing down and then up into left heel. It’s working so well for an old git like me. Well so far.

Great video. Always need a reminder on how to hit an iron properly. Played at Oulton Hall at weekend. Smashed driver but irons really undid all of the work.

Nice vid James. I've been working on trusting myself and keeping a more balanced stance and come down on the ball with irons and shifting the ball placement in my stance rather then doing the lean back method in order to get the ball in the air.

Great video James. I struggle with ball position & low point and try to make up for it by dragging the club through impact rather actually striking the ball.

Hello James. Due to flexibility I just don't have the turn like I use too. But with that said I still don't have a great hip move towards the target. Good video for me. One thing off of this topic. One of my playing buddy has changed golf balls and he is playing better since doing so. He is playing the Callaway Hex Soft golf ball. Have you review it? If not would you consider doing so. Great Channel. I love and need the golf instruction. Cheers Blair

I would say there is no one "best ball for everybody", but everybody would benefit from finding the best ball for them. For me its the Callaway supersoft, (Srixon ultisoft in very close 2nd). I've hit good shots with others (from pinnacle to pro-v), but I find the two mentioned give me reasonably consistent results from my reasonably inconsistent swings.

Hey James, definitely a good video, but this is largely telling us things that we know we need to do as higher handicap golfers. The question is usually how. It would be great if you could include a drill or something similar in future similar videos, not just the theory. Thanks 😊

So how can someone get this right on a practice mat or an indoor simulator? Clearly some mats are soft enough for the bottom of the club to pass through an indented section of the mat after the ball. But is that what really happens, or do players - especially KZbinrs on indoor simulators - modify the low point of the club for indoor mats and outdoor turf?
@aaronnimz38073 жыл бұрын
This is what I am going to start working on. I used to take up good divots, but just brush the grass anymore. Accuracy has definitely fallen off as well.

@beyondthedead76773 жыл бұрын
I'd like to recommend a cheap training aid for this called the flat ball. This is a white hard rubber puck the same diameter as a golf ball that is 2-3 mm tall. If struck at the bottom of your swing it rockets like a hockey puck maybe 50 feet. If you miss just a little high or low it tumbles weakly; if you miss by more than that it's an embarrassing whiff. A package of 6 is available on Amazon for something like $8.
@steveperry13443 жыл бұрын
that sounds like a good idea cause i used to play hockey, slap shot.
@iannaylor2313 жыл бұрын
The credit card sized divot is a very similar method to what I was taught years ago. Imagine your ball is just on the back edge of a £5 note and the divot should be just big enough to lift the note off the grass.

Been playing since 1972, Still don't see a reason to hit down on the ball... don't care what pros do, it's counter untuitive, and will cost you shots. It's a stupid habit and is contradicted when pros tell you " don't try to HELP the ball in the air... let the loft do the work. " Then you don't use the loft of the club! Sooooooo.................... Which one is it? Let the loft work for you... or Don't let the loft work for you and hit down on the ball? THIS aspect of the game is a joke... have fun with it...
