Actually, backbiting is a very big sin. It is so bad that, in the eyes of Allah, it is even worse than adultery. But many people fall into this sin; some people don't realize that they're backbiting and some cannot help it. For eg, if we have a bad relative and we want our children to stay away from them, we will have to tell them about that relative's ill behavior to make children understand better. Does this amount to backbiting? If so, then what to do??

I had the same question years ago but because of Allah's mercy and his guidance I got the answer to it so let me tell you The difference between backbiting and making someone aware of a person's true nature has just one single thin line that is our intention. If we are trying to tell someone to be aware of a certain person's bad behaviour or anything bad in them we have to do three things first 1 if a person is doing something very bad and you are aware of it then you should stop them by means of strict words(not foul or hard words) 2 if they still don't listen to you use physics and mental force as needed 3 if the person is stronger than you or you aren't able to change them then tell others the bad behavior of other person and how it can influence them if they stay with them if you are doing it with a good intention then,no, you aren't going to get any sin but if you are talking bad about someone just out of jealousy, you unlike them or because of any other reason then it will be considered a sin I hope you understand what I wanted to tell you and sorry for the bad English it's actually my third language so I am not very good at it also if I said something wrong or you understood something wrong may Allah S.W.T forgive use and guide us on a better path. Ameen❤

@@youngsavage3583 There are several hadiths that mention this, however they are all not confirmed of their authenticity and are regarded weak hadiths. So, that's my mistake for not having checked for proof before commenting. But then, regardless of it being worse than adultery or not, backbiting is still a very big sin and the best for us would be to stay away from it. And Allah knows best.

What if Allah was pleased with them so he took their souls while they were doing Hajj ? That would be a great ending and a blessing for them !
