Once again great and informative video! 👏 👏. I like to think of that chromatic movement as ALMOST like a diminished scale. Your explanation really helps to open the fretboard in many ways to get a better understanding of its structure and connection to other parts of the neck. As u said if C major is NYC and Am is New Jersey than it would all be about understanding how everyone is a neighbor and not far from another, and u can visit as many neighbors as often as u like lol
