Lou makes the best point in the very beginning. Minnesota been building towards a run. You don't change that. Small market is an excuse. A deep playoff run brings in money. Superstars bring in money. When a smaller market team gets a rare talent they have to build for now and take the hit later. Like Milwaukee. Still no guarantees but the one thing you can't do is panic.

KAT was a good defender and is a willing passer....that's what you don't get with Randle

Kat in ny , his defense numbers are low since being traded
@AB216 сағат бұрын
Because he’s playing Center, he’s not a great defensive center. But the way the TWolves played him at PF, he was a fine team defender.

@@dolphinebk5432 I think its fair to say he was good/average defender as a 4 but not a good defender as the 5 - Demonstrated by Wolves acquiring Gobert But he nevertheless was a good contributor the wolves being #1 defence last year.

I don't know why the league didn't decide to apply the two sets of apron taxes only to salaries acquired by free agency. The taxes should only check big market teams from collecting all the best free agents. The taxes should definitely not hurt a team (any team) by preventing them from keeping their draft picks long term.

Donte averaged 18 ppg as a starter for the Knicks last season! Wolves need to start him ASAP!

Why would you not replace brick hand Rudy for Capela Claxton or Jarrett Allen who were all available… you aren’t gonna be able to find another 3pt shooting 7fter.. Rudy can’t even defend centers
@j-us-t_be-in-g10 сағат бұрын
Allen and Claxton were given extensions for their teams. Hawks needed experience and size at center.

@ at the end of the summer tho.. they were available until the market was dry

It has 0 to do with being a small market team but more with the billionaire owner not believing in KAT. Why does the media act like every team doesn’t have a billionaire owning it?😂

These exaggerated contracts have ruined the genuine construction of NBA rosters. That, and the revisions within the CBA now forces teams to deplete their rosters to make sound financial decisions for their organizations.
@Cecilio-q8b3 сағат бұрын
no, NBA contracts are not exaggerated, because baseball players are paid millions, so are football players, so why not pay NBA players, now, I do believe that the NBA should be more rigid with players in terms of compliance or attendance.

They thought that Naz could replace KAT and they probably thought they could re-route Randle, or at least get off his contract in the off-season. But due to Randle's play and fit, other teams will probably not be interested and he might pick up his option...
@DannyBoy-vp2uwСағат бұрын
yeah, some wolves fans even thought Naz is even than Kat hahah

Why would you act like a team with Jaden McDaniels needs a defensive center fraud like Rudy who wouldn’t have those stats or awards if he didn’t play with scorers like Donovan Mitchell and Anthony Edwards his entire career
@crow_2k11beatsbydre814 сағат бұрын
KAT must have asked for a trade, no wise GM would trade KAT for Randle........
@francesresto708 сағат бұрын
KAT did not ask for a trade. He was shocked that he was traded.
@Cecilio-q8b3 сағат бұрын
no, Kat didn't ask for a trade, that took him by surprise, he said he was grateful that the team president came to his house and told him the day before the announcement, he also said that he thought he would finish his career in MINNESOTA, Kat's move was something that Minnesota had to do because they couldn't keep three big contract players, Rudy, kat and Edward, so between Rudy and kat, kat was the one who had more value in the change, because for Rudy they wouldn't even give a ripe guava, that's why they had to leave kat with pain in their souls.

Either the owners/management team weren't willing to go deep into the tax or Front office figured they needed financial flexibility or bit of both. Given they made the finals, i suspect it was a owners decision - Especially as i understand the situation there is quite messy
