I don't know how "traditional" they are but I find Pinays very likable. Never met one who was hostile or negative. Met one working at a grocery store here in Thailand. She was so popular with western customers that she had a new, higher-paying job in about a month. Filipinos seem to be natural salespeople.

As a "Joe/cano" that's married to a pretty traditional provincial filipina (3 years younger than me), I'd have to say you filipina ladies are truly something special. I had ZERO plans to ever marry or have kids until I met my wife purely by fate, TOTAL crazy random string of events or path set by a higher power. We managed to be in the same place at the same time (Manila airport) and we fell at first sight. She literally stopped me in my tracks when I saw her and I knew after 5 min of talking to her she was about to change my life plans, if she'd have me...🤣 I ended up spending most of my first trip out of the U.S. (at 39 years old) with her and her family, proposed less than a year later and married barely over a year after meeting her. June was 4 years for us and we both love each other more every day! All three young ladies are pretty, but the 2 closer to you are gorgeous!

A few things I really liked about this interview was that they were young, driven in their careers, didn't make the mistake of having kids before they actually wanted them, and seem to have level heads on their shoulders. And to boot they seem fairly conservative and hold those traditional values that is virtually lost in the west. They are all pretty and look like they take care of themselves without seeming needy or overly competitive in the make up department. Just an overall grade A imo, but as usual mileage varies in the eyes of the beholder.

What I truly love about these interviews is that it always reminds me of my wife when I first met her in the Philippines in1996. Demure, feminine, mahinhin, smart, educated (as evidenced of their grasp of the English language alone, a second language), agreeable, and likable. I have a cousin from San Pablo City, and when he found out that the lady I was courting (my wife) was from Batangas, the first thing my cousin said was, "Ah ah kuya, ingat ka at huwag mo syang galitin, baka masaksak ka ng balisong!" Of course he was just joking, lol. But that is the stereotype of Batangenas, fierce and take no 💩from anyone. When I was courting my wife, it was at her house and not going out to meet somewhere else. If her parents did agree that she can go places with me (not often), she was chaperoned by a cousin of hers. It was never just me and my wife out and about. We've been happily married over 2 decades. She supports my decisions and never questioned the decisions I made for the good of our household. She always makes sure that there is hot meals ready for me and our children. She does the laundry, cleans the house, and has a full time job. As far as sending money, it was easy for me to do so, because of the appreciation my wife has shown for me even in the beginning of our marriage. When she first got a part time job, she was sending $20 a month. I was ashamed that that was all she was sending. I told her that we can afford to send them $150-$200 a month of my paycheck. She was in tears and gave me the biggest hug of appreciation and affection. Born and raised provincial Filipinas are built differently. Their families endure hardships and they still press on. Getting that education and diploma because it is a means of not struggling as much. A cashier at a 7-Eleven, any famous fast food joint (McDonald's, KFC, Jollibee, Burger King), department stores, etc. need and is required to have a college degree in order to apply. I think they have eased up on that a bit, but the majority of their hires are college graduates. Thank you Pea for these great videos. I told my son to subscribe to your channel and I believe he has. He likes the vids of not just these interviews but also the places you visit. He liked the Apo island video. He says we should visit that place when we are there in July. I told him, we might be too pressed for time, but we'll see. Thanks again, Pea! May God bless you with the desires of your heart.

Thankfully they still exist and I believe more so in the province than the city. I think these women are looking for traditional values - a man to love who will love them totally, a life partner to share their lives, their hopes and their dreams with as well as a family to care for and cherish. Thankfully there are still western men who appreciate these types of women, traditional women who are femimine not feminist and who still believe in respecting their husbands. Very looking forward to part two and hearing more from these traditional women. God bless you Pea and the many femimine women in PI.

P I really appreciate these type of videos. In the US we hear so much about the quality of traditional women in “The Phils” but there aren’t a lot of outlets where we can hear from provincial girls themselves. I am making my first trip to The Philippines in October and am hoping to meet a traditional young lady, like the ones you interviewed. I have been following you for over a year now and I feel like I have a much better grasp on the culture and the traditional views of some of the women there. I absolutely love the idea of approaching a woman’s father and respectfully asking his permission to date his daughter. A man should be able to show his worth if he truly desires a woman. Please keep the group interviews coming!

Refreshing, the innocence and self respect. For many western men (well, me at my younger years) i would find them constricted by traditions and subjected to the expectations of others. I believe morals and a mutually beneficial relationship to be best. Now matured, I prefer a strong woman but that does not mean rude, curt, or bossy. She must have a well intentioned sense of self. She should posses an interest in more than work and domestic chores. I couldn’t or wouldn’t go further than conversations online, in person and time is far more informative in developing a relationship. Time enough to see the flaws and reactions to different situations.

Relate to these women too. Provincial girls are very different from city girls. Just from the environment they're in, through how they show themselves in public and their thoughts about something. Being naive and ignorant is totally a pure nature, a Filipina woman. I'm a province girl and i am proud of it. I am so thankful that I born a probinsyana. Even if i am not in the interview circle, i'll answer your question about 'What is love? ' For me, Love is sacrificing and believing in the word ' never give up'. You will sacrifice everything for the people whom you love and because you love them(He/She) no matter how difficult or wavy your journey is, you will never think of giving up. Pea, here's a funny thing that happened. I once did a firearms training class for ladies. At the beginning of it I asked them if they wanted the standard class or if they wanted to in the voice of Sean Connery. For the next four and a half hours I did my Sean Connery voice. It was a blast and they all enjoyed it, lol.

4:30 I've not just _heard_ many times that provincial girls are uneducated, I've _SEEN_ it. My late wife was the only educated child among her siblings; her dad was a poor fisherman and her mom a traditional housewife cranking out babies. Their predominant interest was in seeing to it my wife and her sisters were married off as soon as possible and started providing for them as they got older, you know the drill. My wife got _herself_ educated in high school at a time when her parents had no use for education. What I've noticed is that families in the deep province are _afraid_ to venture out past the barrio; the world was the barrio - a 1/4 mile square plot of land in the middle of nowhere. Mindy wasn't settling for that and she went out and got _herself_ educated. I always admired her for that, she was decidedly different from everyone else in her family and ultimately to my benefit. Granted, we met in the 1970s -- most of the Filipino countryside was still living in the 15th Century when we met. The Philippines has come a LONG way since then, and you guys are all from the Visayan region which has been a magnet for expats and their money, and the local economy and education infrastructure has benefited from that. But an educated provincial girl is still a rarity in the area of the Philippines my wife hailed from.

Wonderful video Pea. It's so nice to see and hear ladies that have values. Sadly they seem very hard to find here. That's just my opinion maybe but I still believe the old fashion love is the best and truly shows how much one cares about another, no lies, no cheating, just two people loving equally and accepting the good with the bad because nobody is perfect. All the ladies are lovely and I'm sure when the time is right they will have their happy ever afters. As for me I'm almost 40 and unfortunately hadn't found anyone that loves true and wants an equal romantic, old fashion love and partner in life, but still holding on to my values an dreams of growing old and making great memories with that special someone, if she's out there lol. Wow Pea, what a refreshing video with three wonderful and focused ladies. Myself having spent a lot of time in the province (Leyte) and Manila personally I found provincial ladies much more down to earth, very easy to get a long with, much more traditional and quite frankly much more happier than city ladies, the everyday struggles are there of course but with I think less stress, great and interesting video Pea ☺

Pea, this was fun, I can't wait until my birthday for the second half of this interview. Watching videos like this one remind me how much I have taken for granted over the years about how much more is available here in Canada than in the Philippines. These are the kinds of videos they should show in schools so that the kids learn from an earlier age how thankful they should be to have access to the things they do, and be more gracious about the things they have given to them on a constant basis, where people in other countries like yours call each small gift as a blessing and you appreciate it much more than these entitled young people we have here. I know your episode on Friday is going to at least make me smile, if not pee my pants like the one about lunberjacking almost got me. I hope you have a very blessed rest of the week my friend Pea!

Based on my experience, the first time I worked in Batangas I was asked by one of my colleagues from that area, How did I learn to speak Tagalog, it was really awkward and as a provincial girl I was very hesitant to answer and get mad or be rude back to him so I just answered him that we do go to school and obviously study. And also people in the province are kinder, especially with how they speak and the people in city are more careless with how they talk. (not all but mostly) "Pabalang"

I grew up in the provinces, moved to the big city and when I retire I would love to move back to the provinces. People in provinces are more real. Slower pace of life and general kindness. I remember growing up during the fiestas and the town would cook for the festivities. People would open their homes to strangers and invite them to eat. I know that times have changed and things are generally more expensive. But I kind of miss that looking back. Of course I may have memories that have been painted by my mind to look a lot better than things actually were. But I still love the provinces. If the provinces have high speed internet then I’m sold. Watching the Pea at anything less than 720p is unacceptable 😄

Very good interview. The young ladies are all beautiful, intelligent and well spoken. They all have a view toward the future. Granted they are very naive when it comes to men and relationships which makes them vulnerable to deceptive men. I do hope they never experience that type of interaction. I worry about the young lady majoring in education as there is currently a surplus of teachers in the Philippines and post pandemic thousands from the last two years waiting to take the national exam. There are so many the government is having two testing dates this year. It would benefit her immensely by having a double major to insure suitable employment. Could you please let her know. I know all speak English very well and could work in a call center but compared to graduates of American colleges I would hire these girls instead for many jobs based on intelligence, drive for future success,, loyalty, goals and lastly proud to be an asset to a company. I can candidly say this as I did the hiring and firing as a government administrator, lawyer and non profit CEO for 30 years. Most American college graduates see their jobs as mere stepping stones to the next job or a place to meet a rich manager or administrator to marry. These 3 young ladies exemplify class personally and will professionally. They may not realize it but when interviewing a prospective employee about 95% of interviewees have self eliminated themselves in the first 5 minutes. None of these girls had those interviewing traits but must practice interviewing techniques repeatedly their last year of college. As an American if they were age suitable to date, which they are not for me, I would not date the one studying to be a school teacher as she is already hiding things. Many Filipinas believe if they don't say a lie it is not a lie. But to Western men a lie by omission can be way worse and I see future Hiya which could destroy a relationship and if not cause major conflict and erode trust. The thought of what else is she hiding will always be there. Western men are not saints and a Filipina does not have to worry about saving face with one if she chooses to let him court her. I wish all three the best.

Way too young yes. But an older Filipina approaching mid 20s on up is a high risk proposition. Most women in the Philippines past their mid 20s have already been married. Even if she and her husband has separated, there is no divorce. Sexual relations with a married woman will get you both behind bars. Worse, her husband can blackmail and extort you for money. If you’re a fan of Filipinas you probably already know this.

Would love to have seen them talking about superstitions. I think that's one thing that Westerners are not very aware of. There are a lot of them, and in fact many of them are not even understood to be superstitions by Filipinos. Things they do because "it was taught to them" or "that's what we have always done". Also, I would love to see you interviewing Filipinos of various religions. Sure, the vast majority are Catholic, however there are a number of smaller religious groups that are interesting and Westerners really ought to know to ask a lady's religion before getting too involved. Some of the religions are rather "closed" and cult-like. By the way, you are amazing, Pea. Thank you for what you are doing.

I think it's really not that easy to define "Traditional " .Women of the Philippines are evolving and are more independent.Hold a career and run a Family at the same time. There is perception that Filipino women are subservient, innocent and sweet but that is changing.I think it's important to keep on self educating oneself regarding life and have that confidence that she is a woman of substance and not fully rely on a man.Comparing Province Girls and City Girls is not really fair..

That is really the point men are making. In the west we have “educated” women who want to be men. They have learned to be better at thinking the wrong thing. They are teaching such nonsense that they have now decided that men are able to have babies and women can compete with men in physical sports. We admire sweet, innocent women. We don’t want domineering, bow legged women.

When I was younger schooler to young teen we only allowed to go out till 6pm. Now in my late teens I can go out freely if I'm with my older relatives supervision with it 10pm is still way too late they have to pick me up 7-9 pm is kinda curfew for me specially for girls like we have to help and learn how to tend the house chores like cooking.

Very refreshing piece here, Pea. These young ladies seem to have gotten through the tough years of teenage and college without giving into the pressures of the internet age. Gradually, it is probable that they will start the search for someone to share lives with. Kudos to their parents and kudos to provincial life. So the question is, "Where are the Filipino men worthy of these educated, sweet, innocent girls?". I think this is probably the more difficult question to answer. It seems that in Asian cultures, the guys are the ones failing. Pressure is put on the daughters to be "good" girls and to take care of the families. Why are the guys freeriders? Pea, you need to find a panel of motivated, modest, educated, Filipino men who have held themselves for marriage. Good luck, I imagine. That is, I suppose, the only genuine attraction of the old, white guys. Unlike young, even American men, our generation much more readily shouldered the responsibility of taking care of family and intending to be faithful. I hope these young women can avoid the snake pit of dating young Asian guys.
