If you are advanced in age and you are well off, you want to maintain the system. If you are advanced in age and you are not doing well, you want to change the system. I seen people from both camps. I would say if the world change, nothing you can do too much about it. Key is to be adaptable and an open mind. You can keep your principles but open to new way to do things

Great having more frequent episodes. Really hope this becomes and stays a thing. Love the commentary from both of you

Another fantastic clip! I do think it's important to realise (and I suspect you do hint at this earlier in the clip) that there's left- and right- to a lot of spectrums, including cultural, political, social, etc. and that many people can (despite appearing to be contradictory) appear to be left-leaning in some areas while simultaneously being right-leaning in others. How one perceives the need for systemic change, for example, can move one closer to either end depending on the difficulty of achieving said change.

I was all over the political spectrum (Malaysia). Communist because everyone should be equal, no poor no rich. Then socialist because we can do that by taxing rich people and give to poor. Then started disliking government because they’re corrupt and won’t do much for everyone but socially able to help the poor. Then now capitalist but no trust in government.

It's not about risk aversion or caution. It's about gaining wisdom and realising you aren't the smartest person in the room and that there is a lot to learn from history and tradition and from people that have gone before.
