If we stop getting games still made for ps4, and start pushing for games that require the tech, then I can see it. But atm it seems were barely getting value from our PS5. it just seems like a slight upgrade from the PS4 pro. It seems insane to think a pro would be worth the money at this point if you already have a base PS5.

I read the talent, and I was very calm in my response, doesn’t change the fact your talking about 15% of Sonys library, the other 85%(third party games) are not being developed for the ps4 and haven’t been for some time, your point isn’t good, it’s moot. There are plenty of games that use all the power of a ps5, baldurs gate and Elden ring being some prime examples. Go look it up dude, your point isn’t good

Honestly, the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X made sense cause the consoles were behind graphically almost immediately when they launched, they were struggling to consistently hit 1080 60 FPS. And then PC and TVs were able to do 4K HDR so they needed extra power. A PS5 Pro could help with ray tracing at 4K 60FPS but I kinda doubt a majority of developers will optimize their games to take advantage of that in a big way like they did with 4K HDR

💯 Day 1 Purchase. When Apple, Samsung, Toyota realease a product, and they have two versions of that same product like IPhone 16 PRO MAX, Toyota Rav 4 LX, nobody complains. But when A Videogame publisher releases a higher end Product….. EVERYONE LOSES THEIR MIND!!!!! Yes its needed…. But only for certain type of gamers. It’s a Luxury product, it’s not for everyone. I only play Fidelity mode bc I hate ugly games. I hate when a game drops the quality so much to reach 60fps. So many games are not even 4K or even 1440p. Immortals Of Avenum is 720p. 720p in 2024 is horrible. Bring me the PS5 PRO Pre Order.

Depends, when is the PS6 due? We're at the halfway point of the traditional 7 year generation period, so we can expect a PS6 around the end of 2027, is it worth buying a 600 dollar console this year or waiting for a 600 dollar console in 3 years that should be, again traditionally speaking, an even higher technical leap?

If you don't own a PlayStation 5, yes. But if you already have one there's no point getting a Pro to get a minor tweak.

Ironically the cross-gen games had some of the cleanest visuals on PS5. The games were budgeted for last gen, so they could run comfortably in sharp 4k or as close as possible on PS5. Now that we've left last gen behind, games are budgeted for more expensive VFX at the cost of resolution. Even worse is that they're relying on FSR to improve that aspect when the tech is just bad. The Ray Tracing tech is also so limited in current gen consoles, that it's not used very much or barely noticeable, because there simply isn't enough visual budget for high quality reflections or lighting. PS5 Pro on paper is 50% more performant. Even more in RT and even more, if PSSR can prove to be a better up[scaling solution than FSR. Taking all of that into account, I'd expect for example for Spider-Man 2 in 40fps mode to look better on Pro, than the 30fps mode looked on the original PS5. The resolution trade off should no longer be there and RT should be massively improved. If you're playing games like Apex Legends or CoD and running in 120Hz modes, you'll easily notice how blurry those games are due to dropping the resolution to something like 1080p. Those scenarios should be massively improved on PS5 Pro. Sure, you could say that playing competitive FPS games is better on PC, but Apex Legends for example is dealing with a massive cheating problem on PC and it's only getting worse every year. People who previously migrated from console to PC are now coming back to avoid cheaters. Basically if you don't want to become a pro esports gamer, you're better off playing those competive games on console rather than on PC. PS5 Pro is for those niches of people who want to play on console and be on the bleeding edge at the same time. If it costs around $600, I'll pre-order it immediately. Even without a disc drive, because I have a launch day "discful" PS5 that has never had a disc inside of it 🤣

I think we do honestly. It's pretty obvious these PS5 games can't hit 4K 60 with the current hardware and gamers are continuously getting pissed about it.

@@CrossOutBrycegames can’t hit 4K 60 because devs can’t optimise. 4K 60fps was achieved on the Xbox one x. Now games aren’t even true 4K, it’s all upscale from 1080p and they can’t even consistently hit 60.

i think it will be what bridges performance mode and resolution mode with most games being run at 4k @60fps and 1440p @120 maybe

The resolution in anything more than 30FPS is ugly for most games so yeah we kind of do need it. 40fps modes will look gorgeous and 60fps games will go from horrible to decent resolution.

How about actual Mod Support for Playstation console owners now that your pushing the exclusives to PC? Maybe its just me but single biggest improvement ive seen come with the PS5 isnt even the console itself but with the improvements to the new controller like rumble and Trigger features. It wasnt until it was really late in the life cycle of the ps4 where the controller really felt like it was a true feature included with the game.

Feel sorry for the developers who are making games for last gen while also making games for a XSS, XSX , ps5 and ps5 Pro..... can hardly have games come out now with hardly any issues .

Thats a terrible price to put on a mid generation console. PS6 would be a different story but for this, Its ridiculous. It's not enough of a difference to warrent that price tag.

The guy that made the sketch of the PS5 pro said it's not white..... Were wrong about it being whit... One leak a few months back said it was going to be the deep translucent blue that the special edition PS4 pro came in. I hope that leak is true, that blue with the 3 black stripes would go hard.

500 Mil LE Translucent Blue/Gold = best PS4 Pro. 20th Anniversary LE PS1 grey = best looking PS4. If we get either for PS5 Pro It's an Immediate purchase.

Need? No, but if you put any real time into games you're doing yourself a disservice to not get one. Runners buy running shoes, fisherman buy quality fishing gear... if you play a decent amount of PlayStation, it's kinda myopic to not get one.

The bots are coming out in full force here. To answer the question though: if it can play any game at 4k 60fps instead of having to choose then I would get it. Tired of having to pick one or the other when at the start of the generation the PS5 could do that with any PS4 game that supported it no problem. I’ll buy it and sell my base ps5 to my friend for 300 or so and then we can all play MH Wilds together

For the price of the pro alone you can build a PC for the price of the stand and disk drive a better PC.... For the price of all that plus their pro controller.... And a larger or extra SSD ..... A really good 1440p computer...... No competition building a PC Everytime.....if I didn't already have a 1440p beast of a PC...
