Love that you talk about purity culture! I've had to sort of deconstruct the notions that were fed to me in the youth ministry realm in regards to this. Discerning the Truth versus the opinions of my Catholic peers (which included the idolization of marriage and a prosperity gospel for chastity) not only helped me heal, but also discern my vocation with the Lay Dominicans. We are body and soul creatures and neither aspect must be compartmentalized. We need more conversations like this as Catholics.
