The Bible says that 'the wages of sin is death'. So how can we possibly pay for our sins on earth - you would be dead. However, 'we reap whatsoever we sow'. Our actions and sins have a consequence in this life and these must be endured. Some think that becoming a Christian covers past deeds. If you rob a bank, you pay it back and go to jail, as a Christian who should admit his deed.

We have to go by what God said, yes there is a hell! We all have free will, we can choose to accept or reject the gospel, it's up to you. I choose eternal life with my Lord Jesus Christ. The sin of unbelief is the only sin that is eternally fatal. In short, the completed work of Christ paid it all for those who trust in Him. Without Jesus to cover all of our sins, even the nicest person we ever knew cannot save themself. I hope this helps. Blessings to you.

hi Dr. betters , my Muslim friend was taught to believe ,since he was a child that he could get to heaven by the muslim method, my SDA friend was taught that he must keep the Sabbath, my JW friend was taught that it will be upon the earth and he must sell watchtower magazine, my catholic neighbour was taught that he had to be a catholic. i was thought that at the point of death, I must have no sin in my life. including my tithes must be paid up! and everyone is fully convinced that their way is the only way. how do i know that yours is any better than someone else?

keen observer Hello, although I am not Dr. Betters and I do realize your comment is from eight months ago, please allow me to give you just two Bible verses which may answer your question. You can read John 3:16 and 1Corinthians 15:1-4. There are many others but these two verses are a good place to start. The only way to be saved according to the Bible is to believe in Jesus and His sacrifice. He died for our sins and rose from the dead three days later. It’s a free gift, nothing to do, except repent and accept Jesus as your Saviour. Hope this helps. Blessings.

After our sins are washed away in baptism why do we all seem to be punished for sins we committed before coming to Christ? I traditionally tell people that what they are seeing isn't punishment it's actually part of suffering like what Paul went through after he done many of those same things to Christian's which was done to him. Jesus said come let me show you how much you must suffer. I tell them punishment for sin is hell nothing more nothing less. For sins after coming to faith in Christ we get chastening which hurts but again is not punishment or wrath. Am I correct or did I run in vain on that subject.

I don't think most people think Hell was Satan's masterpiece...I do think most have the wrong perception of what Heaven is though...I once did... most fair-weather believers as well as believers but not followers have this image of Heaven of everybody lined up next to each other in white robes & floating white clouds everywhere, playing harps & singing up to the Almighty above forever & ever & ever....I had that same image, friends too....& of course if that was the truth, then who are we to judge, He made us...& beats having an indestructible body that never dies again yet still feels things like flame, thirst, & agony... into perpetuit ya.. But, that Lie of this "boring" (Lord forgive me please..."worldly boring") notion of never ending worship vs. Hellfire partying is another weapon the Accuser be using to steal the soul. They don't know, myself once as well, that the new body will *eat food still from The Fruit Tree of Life, & drink, & have rewards based on works (WORKS ARE ALSO IMPORTANT DON'T BE DECEIVED), & there will be brand new Universe & Earth without the curse*! Amazing stuff... this initially WAS Heaven in a sense... where man lived life as a puppy dog with intelligence ("happy & joy filled but having ability to do things too")...or like young children before the sin nature really begins to sprout. Won't need marriage (lots of people today idolizing their loved ones & hate this idea...I catch myself doing it with my kids) because the Almighty will be with us...."no need really for that helper/provider/etc."....I think. But when I tell my homies like "bro, there's a different fruit bearing tree every month that allows the eternal life..crystal clear water, no more wasp or mosquito or cougar or tarantula hawk or murder hornet to worry about....the lion & lamb will chill on grass.... no more meat eaters (just as it was before the Fall...& why Dinosaurs & man could coexist)... Think how awesome it must've been for Adam, Noah, & all those in the beginning to live 900, 800, 600, e.t.c. years old!! Noah commencing work on the Ark at age 500? or something... incredible....we get 70-90 if lucky...& nobody goes more than 120.... these people would have more offspring at 4x the amount of life we're allotted today. The Ark...I & even my parents before used to think maybe just a good story... heck no! Totally legit... and resting where it should be in the mountains of Ararat... dude, muslim Turkey recently dedicated the site as national landmark.... Armenians have ALWAYS known this...the Accuser however has been doing work to prevent that info.... just like DemocRats & their fake news & wicked intelligence agencies... There's NO BILLIONS of years old ya'll.... scientists Lie just as much as you or I or anyone does too...

As human beings we think we are good. We think our actions are good and we often can not understand the pain our words, and actions cause to others. The Bible says our hearts are deceiving who can know it. I know God knows my heart but even I may not know fully my heart. Regarding our goodness, Jesus said. Only God is good. Further Jesus says our goodness,(righteousness) is only filthy used dirty menstrual waste rags before God. We think too highly of our selves, God knows how much we need Jesus.. We so need a heart transplant. But to know these things I must trust what is written in the Bible about human nature and our status before God and What the Bible says is God's nature and His plans for human beings. When we ignore his plan and his law given to us for our protection we are falling into Eve's trap. "Hath God really Said, " do you think God really means what he says, do you think God really means that warning, do you think God really means you will die. We are so easily deceived and we are so deceptive. But God says of himself, " I am not a man that I should lie." These are the truths I think upon and chew over in my mind. God does not change and his character is very important to him. Our best protection is to love God with all that we have in us to love others as our selves and to go into all the world and with the Gospel. Jesus want disciples. Remember Jesus is our joy and our peace not our situation.. When Jesus told about the rich man and Lazarus I believe Jesus was telling about a man who was and still is currently in Hell and Jesus talked about a real man who lived and died. This man had a name Lazarus and he was in paradise and now is in Heaven with Jesus. This is the only story that a name was given. The rich man still desires water. I chose not to ignore the warning. A choice to accept the gift of life thru Jesus. Man is given a amount of faith by God. I say use it, cash it and accept the only way to the Father, -Jesus. He is the truth, the way, the light, and the life. So that you heart can be changed. You destination changed. None of us are good enough to earn heaven.

Don't be confused between our Eternal Sin and our Daily Sins. Imo, we a Eternally Forgiven our Adam inherited Eternal Sin Curse by God, when He reverses the Curse only by our Belief in and (Acceptance of His Offer) of the Legally Binding Blood Covenant Gospel Contract in John 3:16. It says, For GOD so Loved the World that He Gave His only Son (Jesus Christ), to be (OFFERED) as a substitute sacrifice and Die for our sins (CONSIDERATION), so that whoever Believes in and (ACCEPTS) Him (as Savior) shall not perish, but have eternal life. (Be Saved) All our sins are forgiven in heaven, but our Daily Sins on earth are Forgiven by God when we Repent of and confess them to Him in Prayer. Though He may Forgive us of our daily sins, He still holds us accountable for them, and He will chasten us if we repeat them. As the bible says, "For what son is the Lord's whom He chasteneth not?"
