I was a member of their church in Atlanta when they were here I stayed even after it was handed over, now I’m a member of an inclusive interfaith church led by a bishop with a phd in world religions we focus on loving people and scientific proof of how good God is. We often talk about the need for conversation just like this! I’m grateful to have matured in my faith walk understanding that nuances in denominations literally don’t matter but will always be thankful to the Lindsey for teaching me practical ways to spend time with an honor God

This was hard to watch. And sad. I can feel Cornelius’ hurt & frustration & can empathize with some of them. He sounds like he’s rebelling. Heather you seem frustrated too. Honestly though, you can’t argue your husband into belief. He seems to know God’s Word. He needs intercession & a work of The Holy Spirit. Only Jesus can transform the heart. Cornelius’ mind is made up for now. Counseling can help too. I know because I’ve been there & sometimes it’s still hard because the church is full of shenanigans. But it’s best to be a safe place for him, pray for him & love him. Meet him with truth where he’s open. And counsel too. Because it’s hard being married to man that’s mad at God.

Whoever the person is behind the camera. Thank you for sharing your experience and getting Cornelius to clearly articulate how he was feeling as I did with Heather and wondered why he was upset. God, I pray that Cornelius finds peace in you and ur holy spirit only. We are overcomplicating Christ, and as we get closer to Christ, it will naturally convict us and change us. We don't do the changing. All we do is try to stay consistent and God will help. It's like working out; the more consistent you are, the more your fitness will reflect on your body. Cornelius, I've left my family church and questioned what is right, but I don't question God, but humans. I know the Holy Spirit convicts everyone differently as we are different. Cornelius and Heather, thank you for a powerful discussion, and I pray for your marriage as I have watched you both for years and truly admire your transparency and your truth of Christ.

I stumbled upon this podcast today. Good episode! It is about communion and fellowship with Christ. It is about surrendering to Him and worshipping Him. Through that intimacy He changes you. Not about doctrine, denomination, rules nor regulation. It is a heart devoted to Christ. Like Mary at His feet. That is all. Through Him we make His decisions, and live His life. We embody Christ and who He really is, not who the church makes Him to be. Our not engahing in sin comes because of His power and not our self effort or striving...Life in Christ is process and progress. For some it is not an easy life. For some it is. There is no formula but a choice to rely on mercy, grace, love and pure surrender of the heart to Christ. Not legalism, perfection and striving. ❤💜👑

Jesus said, "If you love me, obey my commands." This obedience to His word is not driven by legalistic obligations but rather by a genuine love for Him. Claiming to love the Lord while living contrary to His word is contradictory. True love for Him manifests itself in our willingness to obey His commands. Our love for the Lord should motivate us to align our lives with His Word.

Cornelius sound like he’s going through a spiritual awakening which is where you love others unconditionally that’s usually like the first sign.

I love the transparency. It helps when it feels like you’re not the only one. I understand both sides because I am dealing with the same thing.

We're believers and we pray to be more like Jesus daily. Be Holy as He is Holy. We have to keep trying, not sitting in sin. There's consequences as well to our sin, grace is sufficient but if you continue to sin - the enemy gets a door into your life. We are called to live a life of holiness. Atleast TRY to please our Father. ❤️

We are welcoming all sinners, hence we have pasts that we share about. To show them that we too were drunkards and fornicaters. But we can show them that God helped us to get holy. Remember this journey isn't supposed to be easy, we will crave alcohol or sin or sex but God helps us say no. Our traumas won't be there when Jesus comes to see what we've done with our lives. If sexy red talks about sin then I suggest you don't listen or you reduce because you'll crave all that stuff. We care for you Cornelius but I think you can get to a place of choosing holiness and still being you and enjoying life. We love you

I feel for Cornelius! I really think that he needs to feed his faith more with God's word and worship and starve his flesh of the Glorilla's of the world. This type of spiritual diet could be the very things that are fueling his doubt and questions , but he is not able to see it. Abstain from worldly things and watch GOD MOVE!

Ephesians 4:22-24 22that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

I think the confusion is Cornelius is talking about unsaved people and Heather is talking about believers. As believers we can strive to live a life of less sinning because we know better, an unsaved person can’t comprehend that yet, so we as believers have to go to them with love and compassion, understanding. It’s isn’t until God opens our eyes that we see the truth! But Cornelius I’m with you, most religious believers preach perfection to the point it turns EVERYONE away, instead of giving more compassion and understanding like Jesus does to US aka the super religious / believers and unsaved too! I am a believer, was super religious and now lead with love and compassion. It’s feels better than trying to be right! 🤍🙏🏼

I think the question Cornelius is trying to answer is why do we have to keep striving to be morally right and follow a set of laws when Jesus has already finished His work on the cross of dying for our sins? And it’s a completely valid question. I totally agree with Cornelius on people getting caught up in the rules. But I think we should consider the reason why God gave Moses the Ten Commandments in the first place…it’s because sin is harmful to us. God loves us so much and He doesn’t want us to harm ourselves by sinning. I also don’t see God’s commandments as a set of rules. I see them as showing His love for us by giving me the blueprints to not harm myself and others. The reason I see them that way is because I’m in agreement with God that sin is harmful and I don’t want to live that way anymore. Jesus came to save us from living a life of sin by paying the price for our (redeeming us from our) sins, so now sin has no hold over me. I’m not controlled by it anymore. I now believe it’s possible to be set free from sin. And my mind is renewed because I believe that pursuing a life of righteousness is better than living the life of sin I was in. And just because I pursue it doesn’t mean I’m going to get it right all the time. No one is going to do this perfectly like Jesus (because Jesus wasn’t just a man, He is God). Jesus recognized this by sending us the Holy Spirit. So now, even though I won’t live this life perfectly without sin, I’m now open to the correction, rebuke, and discipline of the Holy Spirit instead of allowing my heart to harden towards God from sin. So now when I sin, I’m not going through life thinking that my sin is okay and it’s not a big deal. Instead I have the Holy Spirit who is constantly disciplining/correcting me and I’m constantly submitting to that discipline like a child to her Father. And only God knows how my heart and the effort I put into being Christ-like through my actions so only God can judge. So now when I go before God on judgement day, He doesn’t see how many times I slipped up…He sees me surrendering to the Holy Spirit. He sees the Jesus in me. God isn’t sending us to hell because we didn’t listen. He’s just not letting people who didn’t have a child-Father relationship with Him into His home (heaven). Because if you don’t have a relationship with God and you don’t enjoy being in His presence and living life the way He does (sin-less), then you’re not going to like heaven. If I had time to give scripture to back up what I’m saying I would, but I just wanted offer a different perspective. Thank you for the podcast & I pray y’all continue to have these hard conversations despite how hard it is because they’re needed!

I pray this message reaches those who are willing to hear: Jesus ( Yeshua) which means salvation said he did not come to do away with the law or the prophets. He did away with the penalty for our sin. We should still uphold the law like Paul said. God's law is everlasting. Keep all ten commandments and honor the Torah. Most Christians keep all 9 commandments and assume the fourth commandment is a suggestion. We must come out of those Sunday keeping churches that define the law of God. The Catholic church is responsible for changing the sabbath day to Sunday and all the other churches have followed their deceit. In revelation it says that those who keep the commandments and have the testimony of yeshua will be saved ❤️🫶🏽 Shalom

To practice sin means living a LIFESTYLE of sin. As Heather was stating, yes, all of us sin. Paul said we ALL sin and fall short of the glory of God. What John is saying is IF you are indeed a child of God, you will not and cannot live a sinful LIFESTYLE. The atoning work on the cross freed us from the penalty of sin (eternal separation from Christ) and the power of sin (sin mastering us). We will not be free from the presence of sin until we get to heaven. Christ’s atoning work satisfied the wrath of God; It did not give us the right to live a lifestyle of sin or ignore God’s commands in his word.

I think it’s more so of the terminology Christian’s can use but something is a fact if you keep doing bad you will get bad that’s just a spiritual law no matter what your belief is.

Wait the rules or comandments are not from men they are from God. The Jewish rituals and manmade traditions is what Yeshua rebuked 🫶🏽
