My parents had a good friend out of Nashville that used to design shoes for Elvis, his name was Billy Cline.. We used to visit and I would always ask him to tell me Elvis stories and show me all the gifts Elvis had given him!! ❤

I saw Elvis in concert, and used to have a low opinion of Elvis impersonators, in general. However, I have changed my mind. There are some good ones out there, that do their shows with the utmost respect for Elvis. For those folks that never got to see Elvis in concert, those ETAs provide a reasonable experience that better allows those folks to be able to only imagine just how fantastic a real Elvis concert was. I have come to realize that the best ETAs are a key part of keeping Elvis’ legacy alive and help to develop new generations of Elvis fans. On the other hand, the bad Elvis impersonators just plain suck, and can actually do harm to Elvis’ legacy.

Absolutely no one can replace Elvis on stage, but I stand by my statement above. Tom, I also saw Elvis in concert, and after he died I swore I would never go and see any of the impersonators. But like you, I have changed my mind in recent years. I like the term Elvis Tribute Artists, as I think that the majority of them are doing exactly that. The serious ones spend a lot of money on authentic costumes, and a lot of time learning Elvis's songs, watching videos to capture his movements, and I respect them for that. When I go and see an ETA performing, I always make a point of speaking to them later, and they are always blown away when I tell them I saw Elvis in person, and want to know all about it. All the ones I have met are dedicated Elvis fans.

I agree with you tomlivesay8407...a long time ago, shortly after Elvis died, most of the ETAs or what was known more as impersonators back then, were not very good and some were terrible! But being an Elvis fan for over 50 years and never being able to see Elvis in concert, I do enjoy watching and hearing some of the really good ETAs now. Although I know none of them will ever be as good as Elvis, it's nice to see a live show that gives me an idea of how great Elvis would have been in person! The ones I go see are very respectful and will be the first to admit that they are not Elvis and they will never be as good as Elvis. But to each his own. I know a lot of people don't like them or are not interested in seeing them. I have a good friend that saw Elvis in concert several times. And she never thought she'd like going to see an ETA. But she went anyway years ago and found out how good some of them really are. I respect those that are not interested in going to see an ETA but at the same time, I'd hope they would respect me for enjoying them!

I saw Elvis Wade and The Jordanaires in Toronto in 1988. We met The actual Jordanaires after the show along with ´Elvis’ Wade. It was in a luxury hotel in a huge ballroom. It was wonderful. We took my grandmother for her 64 th birthday. They toured with him for 12 years

Last week I watched news videos on Elvis festival in Australia. It was great to see how much the Australian people for 5 days sang, danced & had contests & showed their love & respect for Elvis. I've noticed that when you look on line for Elvis's relatives they basically name Pricilla, Lisa Marie and her kids. One source mentioned Patsy Presley and a gentleman that said he worked the gate. They do not list Billy, Jo, Danny or your other son or hardly any Smith's at all except for Gladys. It's like they leave out one whole side of the family.

Priscilla was wearing too much make up long before she met Elvis, and once she moved in with him, she started wearing even more, and experimenting with huge hair styles. She asked Elvis' cousin to help her do her hair and Patsy did for a while, then she got sick of it. Elvis hated it and told her to stop doing her hair like that. It is in several books by members of Elvis' family, as well as the Child Bride book.

She said she understood but what she didn’t know was he stated the reason he had to leave was he was coming down off a herion high. This was on his instagram. I can't bring myself to buy a ticket to Priscilla. At one time I respected that she was instrumental along with financial backing to make his collections and home a tourist attraction. It enabled her and Lisa to have a life of wealth. I don't like that they discounted other family and friends in the process. Billy should be respected by being invited to the events involving Graceland.

I saw the "Priscilla" movie, one of the worst movies that I have ever seen, I had to suffer through it. It was dark and boring, It never got better, I really don't know what was the point of that movie! I also loved Bandstand. watched it as a teenager, even went on there once when Chubby Checker was hosting it!

i plan on watching the Priscilla movie when it comes out on Netflix or whatever. I will not go pay to see it. But I will give it a fair shot. i never go by others opinions. i like to see for myself

Not sure if you guys know yet but Riley is going to release the book Lisa was writing about her life so we’ll see the truth and hopefully it’ll show Priscilla’s true colors and show how great Elvis was. And the Priscilla movie bombed. So that tells a lot as well.

As to Laney's question there is a video called : Elvis - His Latest Flame Remix - Hot Girls Shuffle Dancing . that has like 60 million views and uses his voice . A viral video like that is making money . I dont know if the estate gets any though . Probably not enough to sue for .

I think priscilla over does it with the whole "I didn't have a life of my own, i could only do what elvis wanted me to do etc" Elvis once told larry geller "That girl lives with me and she still doesn't understand what makes me tick". No one forced priscilla to live that life. It's also unfair that Elvis cannot tell his side of what happened (tho he hated tell all books and his personal life being so public especially relationships) We have no idea what ELVIS had to see and deal with from priscilla. Bet she was no saint either.
