Do white cameras overheat less than black cameras?

Do white cameras overheat less than black cameras in the sun? In this video, I answer this question using the black and white Sony ZV-E1, a camera that's known for overheating issues while shooting 4k videos. The results were very surprising.

Great video A lot of cameras overheat when the lcd screen is placed fixed to the camera By opening the lcd screen as you did you are allowing air to circulate around the back of the camera and maybe lengthening the operation time

Nice experiment. Yes.. color makes a difference - the bigger, longer tele lenses are white because of the heat (expansion) reasons too.

No, just 4K 24. I never use 60 for longer format videos. And 120 is for slowmo only.

Now I would of never thought about the color of the camera for the overheating. I always thought that the darker camera would be more discrete. The White is more distracting and need silver lens to go with that. BTW was there any improvement in viewing the LCD screen in the daylight.

I recently filmed at 28c in direct sunlight outside at 4k50 and I overheated way before my black ZV-E1 showed any temperature warnings 😂

OVERHEAT LESS in direct sunlight, BLACK absorbs heat more BUT dissipates heat the fastest, so white cameras only have a direct sunlight advantage.
